Pro Athletes and Guns
« on: July 22, 2009, 06:17:34 pm »
We see stories all the time about Professional Athletes and Guns, and it's always bad!  :facepalm
How often do we see them handle guns responsibly and having fun?

So I saw this browsing one of my local Class 3 dealer/ranges today.  And I had to share.  Look at the smiles on their faces, the guns their playing with.  SGC is a well RO'd range and a very high end nice play to shop.  So seeing this I was pretty excited.  Wish we could get more of this out in people's eyes.  Help change that mental image in people's minds.

There's a pro football player on M4carbine that just got drafted for Detroit and he has suppressors and an Accuracy International.

Here's his thread.  It's Lydon Murtha.  At 6'7" and 306lbs, I'm glad he's on our side.  I wouldn't want to be facing this guy with anything less than my FAL :D

Ah, okay. I was confused when you said drafted. I was thinking that something very big must have gone on while I was asleep.

Wait he just got drafted by Detroit?  Man the poor guy!

And yeah!  I'd hate to have him come after me!  I worked out at UofA before my Senior year of High School with the UofA Wildcats Football team as I wanted to play college ball and they had a high school football player program.  Very cool guys.  VERY BIG GUYS!   :devillol  The highlight of the summer was Teddy Bruschi stopping in to say hi.   :bowdown

Lydon looks like those guys.  I would be nervous stepping in front of him.  Like you say, armed or BEAR armed (as he has!)

Hmm....6' 7" @ 306lbs running straight at me (5'6" @ 155lbs) yeah that might smart a bit....And the interesting thing is those big guys are both incredibly quick and suprisingly agile, out running or out maneuvering them inside 10-15 yds would be quite the effort!

Here's a report of him at the combine:

that 3 Cone Drill and 20 yard Shuttle is serious, and if he led all linemen in the 40 that's a FAST MAN!
