Do we need to have a H2H sub-forum?
« on: September 26, 2014, 09:42:48 am »
I'm asking because while we have regularly posted topics about hand to hand or unarmed to armed fighting, there isn't a particular forum for that.

But I think maybe we should.

I would just lump those topics in under the "Non Firearm Weapons" sub forum.

Considering that 99/100 of the violent altercations in my life have not involved a gun, but have involved a punching/slapping/kicking, I'm thinking that getting fit and knowing how to physically fight might be something that is worth considering and discussing.

    But that is just me.

I was wondering if anyone felt the same.

I would definitely be interested in something like that.

It's definitely worthwhile, just not sure if a whole new sub forum is needed.  With the way forums work if you open up too many sub forums, everyone just ends up sticking with a few main ones and many of the sub forums just end up languishing empty or with only a handful of posts.

I don't think we need one at the moment. If the time comes where we get a lot of content for it we will either split it out or rename one of them.

    seanp,
I too feel we do not need a separate forum at this time.

Just me, still less is more.  WTA is not cluttered, and the Search works really well.
Add the fact, members are good at posting in the correct forum.

    i.e. Using Canes

A great idea, suggestion in Non General, and in S&T sharing how to use.

While I agree that we do not yet require a dedicated HtH subforum, I would love for us to get to the point where we do.  So much gun forum emphasis is placed on the most tac-ti-cool guns and gear, and so little on the defensive skills that the average person is MUCH more likely to need or use.
