This is my new home away from home.  I'm the Retail Manager.  We are going to have a soft opening, hoping this coming Saturday, but not sure if we can get it open by then.  But that's the goal.

I'd two days we received 17 pallets of inventory and stocked them.  Tomorrow we start getting in the firearms.

Nice inventory of targets.  Are you guys just selling the packs of targets or individual targets as well?  I just thought that selling the pack of targets is one way to sell more and get people in more to use them, rather than just buying what they need.

Make sure you get reloading components as well.  That'll keep them coming.  Primers, Powders and Projectiles.

Heading that way Monday to pick up a Lucid scope among other things. I'm only 2 1/2 hrs away and ive never visited the King's Mountain battlefield (Major Patrick Ferguson - inventor of the Ferguson rifle - died there) which is on the way.

    It's coming along very well.
Still ironing out wrinkles, but the store is looking good and running rather well if I do say so myself.
    Yesterday I sold a SCAR Heavy, a UTAS-12, a SIG MK25-TB, and a couple high end Spydercos.

    It was a good day.

Looking forward to seeing a long time friend tomorrow!

I made it down there today. I don't leave my beloved deep Smoky Mountains often but this was fun. I was impressed with both the facility and the sales staff.

The sales staff were almost all in their 20's and once they checked in on me, they left me blissfully alone to browse. The youthful dynamic was refreshing and they had an enthusiasm and cheer that was refreshing compared to the a-holes in other stores. The young man who later sold me the Lucid sight honestly told me he didn't know certain things about the sight's specs and performance parameters. I was impressed with his truthfulness. Many others would have tried to BS their way through and that would have lost the sale. He was a bit embarrassed that he didn't know but shouldn't have been. Hell I myself didn't know and I should have.

As an aside, I don't know how much shopping my son would have got done had he been there. He would have been chatting up the sales girl. She reminded me of one of his ex's that Julie and I definitely approved of but life, college and the Marine Corps got in the way.

The prices were very good and there was a wide selection, especially of handguns. The indoor ranges and class room were on the same caliber as those at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center at Glynco. There's even bay doors where you can pull in a car for vehicle drills. Then there's the VIP lounge that was beyond cool. You'll stand a good chance of running into some of the Carolina Panthers in there that have joined the VIP club.

I was treated like a prince and I'll be back, most likely when my son is home on leave after boot camp in late February.

We talked for a bit but no lunch like we planned. I was late due to a wreck on I-26 near Fletcher and George was in the middle of a major meeting by the time I got there. A cool visit nonetheless and well worth the trip.

Did you get to tour the battlefield?  I drove past signs for it when I was (lost) driving through the area in March '13.  It would have been nice to stop if I was not short on time and sleep.

Listened to Georges interview on the Roadgunner Podcast today.  Sounded like the feel that Sarge712 described is what George and the other principles are aiming for with the store.
