.357 Sig will not defeat soft body armor out of an 8" submachine gun barrel, either.

This may not do very well in the US market.  Submachine guns aren't very common in law enforcement anymore, and have, so far as I know, practically zero use by the US military these days.  But they're still big with European law enforcement and special operations, and Sig may be able to cut into HK's near monopoly there.

What are you talking about?  There are submachine guns on every street corner and two in every gangbanger car!  Haven't you heard MSNBC about all the assault weapons being used to hose down entire schools and police departments?

     Says it'll be released in a 16" SA version....I dunno, might/probably won't use pistol magazines I guess....Maybe?

      I'd like a good PCC that took handgun magazines...but the KT-2000 just is...I dunno..I can't 100% support it.   Other'n that....AR-uppers?

A 16" .357 SIG - just might make a damned nice deer gun.  Just sayin'.

16 inches and a stock that collapses like that?  I'd be super happy with one for a patrol gun.

They didn't ignore it. There's probably no market for a 10mm submachine gun.

In any case a 10mm gun requires bigger parts than a 9mm/ .40 one. That would probably be a big redesign. Maybe.

Agreed. We should be thankful they offered it in .357 SIG. Are there any other .357 SIG sub guns out there? Not that we can have them but it's nice they did that.

As for what we CAN posess I'd personally rather have an SBR AR carbine in .357 SIG and toss a DefendAR stock on it. So then I can at least pretend. And it'd still be fun.  :)

Yup. Apparently you're not operator enough since you didn't know that already. Better eat some hi-speed, lo-drag wheaties, my friend!  ;)

I'm decidedly low-speed, high-drag when it comes to my "operator status." And I haven't gotten very dirty in "operations" in 5 years. I did get a little dusty and sweaty a year and a half ago, for recurrent survival training....

Yeah, the future of guns like this hinges on what does or doesn't happen by the end of the month.

It looks interesting,  but I feel that magazine availability may be an issue.   That would be a problem even without the current frenzy.

I know I'm bringing up a topic that is almost 3 years old.

My friend recently purchased one of these.  It's pretty slick.  Mags are available and apparently this gun can be had for around $1300.  I think I want it.  My friend got the pistol version.  He is submitting a stamp a SBR it.  Add on a collapsible stock and a red dot and this seems very nice.  I used to want an MP5.  No longer.

In the past couple of years, has anyone else had a chance to either own or fire the MPX?

Own, no.  Fire, yes.  It's very cool... It's seriously one of the slickest SMG types out there.  Very cool.  But I'd like it better if it had a side charging handle and not an AR type T-Bone.  I don't like T-Bones.  Unless it's a steak.  The gun is essentially a shrunken AR.  A Tyrion Lannister AR.  Smart, and good and what it does...

There are other 9mm SMG types out there... The CZ Evo, being one of them.  Which solves the T-Bone issue for me, but overall isn't as refined.  They are about 300 to 500 dollars less.  I kinda like them more.

If SIG treats this like it has to other systems in their line then don't expect much of promises for support in the way of conversion kits and whatnot.  The SIG 556 & XI were supposed to also be modular platforms but that never happened.  If you like the way the MPX is then fine, but if you are liking what they could be then don't hold your breath on that one.
