Not one instance, but several: The "Girl gun" pisses me off. Stupid mother fluffers who think cos they shrink something down and make it pink, it is appropriate for women. I hate it when women get talked down to like they are too stupid to pick their own stuff and then the Jack ass guy ardently suggests something he himself couldn't shoot well or would have difficulty manipulating the controls on.
My two favourite specific instances?
"You don't need to conceal carry anything bigger than a NAA in .22 magnum"
And
"Huh, you carry a revolver daily? No one can do that, that's nearly impossible because the cylinder is so thick!" (I guess back then, when round guns were king, no one carried a gun
).
The first instance was told to me by an old timer who worked at the gun store. No harm, no foul from him- old farts have opinions and they give them willingly; even if you don't ask. That's cool.
The second, however, was some east Texas peckerwood who made an effort to make my civil sidestepping of his repetitive ignorant remarks as painful as possible. Cylinders are too thick to conceal effectively in revolvers? Well thank goodness I don't have to conceal carry your head for protection, friend, cos that's the only thing that is "too thick" in this conversation
. He didn't even own a proper gunshop, rather a pawn shop. He effectively convinced me to not buy the 12 gauge lupara SxS he had.
Coelacanth remembers this incident well, because I messaged him about it. Both to vent and ask what the true price of the gun was.
