2016 Black Friday Sales
« on: November 21, 2016, 02:07:58 pm »
So the time to spend money you don't have is upon us.  Black Friday sales seem to be in effect and Cyber Monday seems like it started 3 weeks ago.

Any deals you're looking for this week?  I can keep my eye out or maybe even offer some deals if my distributors have them in stock.  I always look at SWFA for some of their optics but other than that, I don't really look at gun deals.

Looking for some AR uppers, a few other various parts too.

Need a 7mm-08 AR10 barrel, and a charging handle.   A good 2-stage trigger, maybe a G2S or a Larue.   Maybe an optic, but only with a super good deal.

I have a friend selling a 6.5 Grendel Complete Upper with a Proof Carbon Barrel.  Only $1895.   :panic

I also have two lowers that I need to top off as well.

I have four, two are completely built already.  Picked up the other two stripped last week just because Cabela's had them for $50.

One will definitely be .458 SOCOM.  I have been debating what to do with the other complete one.  Maybe 5.7x28?  I would go 6.5 Grendel, but it is a pain to find magazines.

I'm thinking I need a Trijicon MRO for my Sig 556. She's currently optic-less. OST has em for $470 but I gotta see what kind of mount I need. I'm kind of 50/50 on a folding front sight, but with the open CQB aperture of the Swiss diopter you don't need a folding rear, so I'll probably just leave the existing sights alone.
I'm not saying you should use an M1A for home defense, but I'm also not saying you shouldn't.

Haven't seen any really great deals.  Primary arms has some good prices on Geissele triggers and Magpul MBUS sights.  I'll probably pick up a few of those.  They had a good deal on .308 P-Mags, but they sold out.  Lots of places have 5.56 PMAGS for $8-9.

Brownells and PSA aren't much cheaper than their regular sales that run all the time.   Good price on 5.7x28 ammo at PSA if you want that.

CBC did have some $200 uppers,  but they are sold out now.  Considered going for that, but I really don't want another 16" upper and I don't want to wait a month to get the thing.

AIM had some good deals on Magpul Tejas gun belts,  but the common sizes sold out quickly.

I was hoping Rock River would have their .458 Socom uppers on sale, but the discount is only good for 5.56/.223.

I've nabbed some bits and bobs, sales of not. sling plate for my AR so I can ditch the clamp on abomination I have now. a new buffer spring, an armorer's wrench.
I'm still looking for a new charging handle and maybe a new stock...

AIM has BCM charging handles on sale.   Sadly, not the .308 one that I need.

I picked up an Apex Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit from Brownells for roughly 30% off regular price.  Unfortunately, I blew most of my free cash on pre-election stuff (AR lowers and ammo).

I still have AR lowers to finish up.  At least I can be more leisurely about finishing them now.   I'll just buy parts a few at a time over the next few months.

BCM is a bit much right now. I was just hoping for a new stock GI handle because mines: 1:got a slight bend in it 2: some galling from me improperly pogoing out a jammed case 3: made out of 6061 aluminum for some stupid reason.

I'm thinking of getting a strike industries ARCH, because it's not too expensive at around $17 (just a buck or two more than a standard GI) with a stock latch and $23 for a extended version. I'm leaning the standard ARCH because the ARCH-EL has an aluminum latch. and I've heard too much about it breaking off. so nogo there.

my rifle is slowly becoming a SI rifle... muzzle brake, charging handle, I'm leaning towards a viper stock...

I thought about getting a standard one, but standard .308 charging handles are a bit more expensive anyway, and on this particular rifle I'm sort of doing a semi-custom thing with some upgraded parts,  so I figured I'd spend the extra $30 for the BCM.

Still need to order a 22" 7mm-08 barrel and decide on a handguard.   I'm not sure what I'll do for that yet.

I didn't plan it ....but I visited Academy Sports today as they appeared to be not TOO busy .... and picked up A Smith & Wesson "Victory" model.    It has those 3 dot sights that pick up ambient light and  provide a 3 dot sight system.

Gander Mountain has a decent online Cyber Monday sale.  $20 off $100 before midnight EST tonight.

I picked up a gift card at the grocery store with their current 4x fuel points promotion and used that to buy 5 .308 P-MAGS and a couple of boxes of 22 ammo to round out the order.  Turned to be about a 30% discount,  not too bad.
