Six-Sided Tac Rail
« on: August 07, 2010, 09:13:02 am »
Has anyone seen one of these? Instead of a quad rail, it's a hex rail.

A Couple weeks ago, DPMS sent out an email that they had 50 available. They were standard length, 6-sided free float tac rails, and were labeled as DPMS products.

I didn't expect them to be available long, since the email even said first come, first serve. But now I cannot find a 6 sided rail on their website, nor anywhere else.

     :-\

That's for an old style carbine mount...

For another style of mount with a bit more of quality try the YHM customizable rails.

    http://yankeehillmachine.com/store/forearms.html

This one offers the same, well, mostly, it offers the possibility of mounting 1 rail at 0°, 45°, 135°, 180°, 225° & 315° asides from the regular 90° & 270° (Basically you could stuff 8 rails there or take those last two rails).

And I heard YHM supplies DPMS every now and then, IIRC.

Hope that helps  :P, are you trying to get your CavArms .22lr SBR an extra black-counter-spec-ops-HSLD-sniper-reactive tacticool rail?

    Thanks. Good info.

The Cav Arms build has become a lightweight 5.56 A2 design, and it's not getting tacticooled. The rail was a cool thing that I chewed on for too long and by the time I decided to do it, they were all gone.

I want a six sided rail so I can mount six bipods so when I'm rolling around on the ground I'll be ready to fire from whatever position I find myself.

Wouldn't grip-pods be more desired? that way you can put 6 back up red dot sights and still have proper grip for stability  :facepalm

Hey OB, what did you intended the 6-side-tac for?

I'm holding out for a Six Sided Rhino Rail system for my 930SPX.  If I have less rails than AMTRACK, I'm not tactical enough.

Do they have rails for the pistol grip yet? I need those.

Hey OB, what did you intended the 6-side-tac for?

My honest answer is, "why not." I later thought about how mounting things on an angle (like lights) would be beneficial, but initially it was "ooooohhhhh! Never seen that before. Want it!"
