Pocket type holster for 1911
« on: November 10, 2017, 07:35:09 am »
Trying to get the Mrs. carrying more regularly---especially in the warmer months. The only holster she really feels comfortable with is a tanker style---not very practical in a T shirt.
So I started showing her the various concealment purses.......but she already has the equivalent of a small cow herd of bags.
Yesterday, while loading up the range bag, I had an idea. She has this pocket holster---attach a large piece of velcro to the back, and the other side to the interior of a purse.
I could do this for all holsters, on all purses; so whatever she wanted to carry, it would be in the same location.
I can find this type of holster for all of her toys......except her favorite---a full size 1911.
thoughts? suggestions?

Huh... That might work.  Or better....  Grab like a King Tuck type holster, and remove the clips so you have a wider platform for better stability.  Because a Full Sized 1911 would be too heavy for whats shown above and it would rotate in the purse until it was sideways and difficult to draw.

I can't find a really decent picture of it, and I'm not a holster expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I think the Barranti Hip Pocket Holster might fit your bill.

I could build ya something if you wanna email me. I've got industrial Velcro on hand and can just stitch it to the rear panel while building it etc.

    Take care

after months of back and forth with Luke, refining ideas; we settled on a design.
He sent this photo a few days ago, before he dropped it in the mail
an added bonus for this setup----she has purse holsters for her P235 and compact .45----they can attach to the velcro when she wants to carry a purse without pockets

Luke---if you decide to add this to your lineup; an option to buy additional backing pads would be useful ---that way I can simply put one in each non-CCW purse she has

Man, that is a nice looking piece.  Not surprising considering the source but still .  .  .   :thumbup1
