Title: Pistol brakes

Any advice from the collective on where to go for a pistol brake? I don't need one, and I know I don't need one, but it is a placeholder until I deal the the nonsense surrounding a suppressor and it might be a bit of fun in the meantime. 9mm 1/2x28 for what it is worth.

Are you are thinking about a Glock, Roland Special type? I was going to recommend http://www.kearms.com/, but they don't seem to have pistol muzzle brakes.

It is going on a Canik TP9SFX. Threaded barrel is supposed to be on my doorstep any day now.
I don't really have a price range, though it looks like most of the market falls into the $40-$100. I'd be OK with anything in that range if someone had personal experience with it and could vouch for it.

Don't threaded barrels usually come with a washer/nut in place?

Depends on the maker. I have received the both with a thread protector nut and washer and with just a little rubber cup.

If I was you, I would do some research on "Roland Specials" and the gamer guys/three gun competitors and see what those guys are using. A "Roland Special" is a red dot equipped, braked pistol used for daily carry. Kind of a carry version of a race gun generally built on a G19. Those are the only two common uses for 9mm pistol brakes I know of.
Let us know what you decide on, and how it works.
Canik TP9SFX, is this the new version. How about a range report? I have heard very little about the Canik's. Didn't they recall every original pistol? Or am I remembering some other brand.

This is already pretty close to being a roland special. Trijcon RMR mounted and just playing around with making it even easier to shoot.
Range report: Excellent trigger out of the box. Light, crisp, and almost nonexistent trigger reset. Comes with different mounting plates for the various patterns of optics, a few different sizes of backstraps, a few sizes of extended magazine releases, and a cocking handle. It is on the high end of what you can realistically carry concealed, a bit over 8 inches long and 2.5 lbs loaded. The stock sights were nice, but I barely used them before I mounted the RMR. This is my first pistol with optics and it is like shooting on easy mode. It takes a bit of practice to get used to finding the dot as it is less forgiving than irons for the sight picture not being perfect at initial presentation. Once you have the dot on target, the trigger makes hitting anything easy. I tried it at 100 yards and I was getting reliable hits on a silhouette; I've never been able to do that with a pistol. 2 18+2 mags included along with a holster that isn't completely horrible.
There is a recall out there that upgrades a few parts for drop safety, but I bought this post recall, so parts already installed. From what I've read, it was related to dropping it often enough and hard enough that components get damaged and create the possibility of accidental discharge on a future drop. Nonissue in my mind, but some of the youtube monkeys just have to get those clicks. :shrug

I am almost tempted to try and build something like that, but in .45acp. Unfortunately I don't have a 9mm platform to start with...And not sure I want to do it on my wide body commander.
A G19x would be a great starting place for that type of a build.
