Yeah, basically you have to work at a gun company to even have the possibility of this being useful.  Even then, the usefulness is limited since nobody wants to constantly take their gun on and off every time they leave their desk.

i have a locker in the wall of my bedroom closet where i keep 2 shotguns and the Wife's and my EDC gear out of the reach of our 4yr old midget.  It didn't come with very functional shelves or hangers so this would probably work ok.  I really need to get a bio safe or something by the bed, but right now I'm gambling the 2 dogs will give me enough lead time to get to a scatter gun or EDC locked in the wall.

I could see using this in a vehicle console or console/trunk safe.  I can't carry at work so have to keep it locked in the rig when i'm forced to be in the office.  It may also work as a place to stuff it while driving, i think it could go low on the console, out of sight but still within reach and be easier to get to than on my person while sitting in the car.  It would have to be easy on-easy off though, i don't want to have to "wiggle it around" to get it off the damn thing and back in my shorts.

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes....Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Thomas Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria in Chapter 40 of "On Crimes and Punishment", 1764

    It has it's place.

The trick is finding that place.

I've watched a lot of Western movies.  My guess is one of those places is behind the bar, and another under the card table.

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.
Ray Chapman, used to say that the 125-grain Magnum load’s almost magical stopping power was the only reason to load .357 instead of .38 Special +P ammunition into a fighting revolver chambered for the Magnum round. I agree. - Massad Ayoob
