If you were doing a non-trust NFA transaction,  could you sign off for yourself as the CLEO?   Doesn't really apply to most people but you are in a unique position being the chief.

we looked at that, but thinking,  better not try.  no reason to give ATF any excuse by signing my own form as the CLEO.  especially when I could get the Sheriff to do it, would be better, if I needed to do so.   The Sheriff however,  if he was to send in a form 4,  probably could. or he could have his designee sign it.

Yeah, I wouldn't do it either.  It is an interesting legal question though.  Probably doesn't come up all that often.

You'll have an early Christmas, probably i August or September.  I should have one come back in the next month or so.

got a call from my local dealer.  I got a stamp today.   :thumbup1
I will have to provide the dealer with a copy of my family firearms trust, as per BATFE, then good to go.
Probably do that this evening after work.

7 months.   guess the number of filings went up somewhat this year.

People put in for a ton of stamps to beat the new law. Unfortunately I put in for a stamp in June, and I've heard that it may be a year wait. My last trust form 4 was just under 5 months.

Mid February submission took 7 and a half months. I submitted another on June 13th. I'll be excited if it comes back in under a year.

Why do you have to provide the dealer with the trust?  I usually send my copy in with the Form 4.

I did send a copy of the trust in along with the Form 4 in March.
When my dealer questioned ATF about something else, that came up, that I had to provide a copy of the trust to him,  plus the new rules (July 29, 2016,, or there abouts) that everyone on the trust has to be fingerprinted and those sent in as well, when we do the next one.
