Report: As a certified Zombie Hunter Team Leader, I am now GTG. The official anti zombie ammo
http://www.hornady.com/ammunition/zombiemax has been procured, and has already been distributed to my team members.
As for other notes-
It was good to see The Ogre, Gundoc, and Khorne again. Picked up slipstream, both grease and oil, for myself, my brother, and my bro-in-law.
Ammo prices were mostly good. Not great, but decent. No Federal 00 buck to be had though.
Any guns in the EBR category were for the most part ridiculously priced. It also seemed to be the same with any and all magazines that weren't for a standard 5.56 AR or 7.62X39 AK. Makarov mags at 25 bucks each, the 223 Weiger AK mags(only 2 I saw) were 34 a piece, and Khorne only found one single solitary PSL mag in the whole place for 30 bucks? No thanks. No factory Saiga mags to be had anywhere, except with a NIB gun that, regardless of caliber, gauge, or vendor, was to be had south of 600 bucks.
As an unabashed ruger fan, I got to handle a couple of their new offerings, a single 10, and the 8 shot 22LR SP01. The single ten did nothing for me. But the 8 shot is now officially on my want list. It's sort of an sp101 grip, with a miniaturized gp100 frame, with a midget sized redhawk barrel screwed in. And the hi-viz sight really stands out nicely.
I got to meet Bob Mernickle, of
http://mernickleholsters.com/ FTF. He's built a couple custom rigs for me via phone conversations. Top shelf stuff.
I did buy a gun. It's a good idea to carry cash folks. Always carry it, and know your limits. Today was one of those rare days, I was there to visit with the Crusader boys, and any other WTA members that wandered by mostly. But it just happened somehow. I was just walking around the gunshow, really just looking for a new t-shirt and a couple specific books I had been after, no intentions of buying a gun at all............I found myself seated, wallet out, and my DL and CCW permit in this other guys hand, while I filled out this crazy form with a bunch of questions about me.
I came walking back to the Crusader table carrying a new-to-me shotgun.

A Winchester youth model 370 single shot 20 gauge. With a trigger guard type safety lock, and a decent gun sock thrown in. About 90 percent condition. The 10% that is missing from 100 was all cosmetic. Mechanically it seems flawless. Research since I got home indicates it was made between 1968 and 1973 in the Cobourg, Canada plant. Looking down the bore, it looks to be very lightly used, and at that, a long time ago. Book value on this gun in good to excellent condition runs from $90-$120 from what I can find. I paid $64.10 OTD. Range report won't be forthcoming however. It's on it's way home with my brother for a bit, I figure it will be for about a two year loan. He has a 10 year old son.
I checked. On said 10 year old, LOP was close to perfect, stock to cheek weld are good too........
