Nah.  Momentary thread drift is all part of getting to know the newbies.  At most, a misdemeanor.

Yup.  I remember those days also.  I suppose by today's standards ( or lack thereof .  .  . ) we would have been considered ignorant and barbaric but my recollection of that time is that we were generally healthier and happier than we seem to be today.

Anyway, this is a newbie intro thread so I should knock it off and start posting somewhere else lest I be charged with felony thread drift . . .  :bash

    Also a new old guy.

Spent 28 years in Utah under the increasingly Blue State (it will probably be Blue by the 2022 election). We just relocated to N. Florida, so all of my ties, associations, and efforts within and without the state to maintain and return our 2nd Amendment rights to their one time glory are far less effective from our remove. Did you know Salt Lake City has the highest per capita population of homosexuals in the US (yup, even more than Portland or SF), I'll hold my opinions and other to myself on that topic.

Prior Service, Skydiver, Medic, Pilot, a martial arts practitioner from 78-2014, married since 84, one time pro softballer (FP and SP), tactical shooting and situational awareness instructor, retired engineer, welder, actor and TA, long time BMW dresser owner (K1200LTC, and K1600 Grand America) but recently purchased a 2021 Road Glide (I know, I won't be allowed to bathe anymore), anything IT (SW and DB Dev, systems, switching, large NAS and SAS storage systems, designed and built data centers, infrastructure and cooling), CDL all endorsements, drone pilot (studying for my Part 107), Lifetime NESA, OA, GOA, NRA.

Now were 'officially' retired early and enjoying the bugs and humidity, but with a pool.

Nice to meet you and hope to be a net positive contributor.

Sorry, it was 73-2014 on my getting my ass kicked. Sensei John Taylor at Marin County Self-Defense might not be tickled that I did not properly clarify my origins and intro to the MA world.

Trained under John Taylor (Judo and TKD)
Master Lee in PC FL (TKD)
Al Secca Sensei in Agana Guam (Judo)
Pedro Sauer and Rickson Gracie in SLC and VA (BJJ)
    Master Chun in SLC (Judo)
    Mr Peterson in SLC (Aikido)
Siri Steve Thatcher and Si Gung Kim Hainline in SLC (Hung Ga Gung Fu)

I still get beat up by girls. 🧑‍🦽 :banghead

Welcome aboard.  We all get beat up by girls.  Ask me how I know.   :whistle

You have an interesting history and from it I surmise you'll fit in around here just fine.  Sorry to hear about SLC but I know a good bit of rural Utah is like we remember it.  Florida is pretty nice.  More crowded than I am comfortable with these days but that's just about the story anywhere, no?

This is a dinky little forum these days but we have a most impressive collection of archived material - some of which becomes relevant again and gets resurrected into a current thread for us to hash out - again.  We look forward to your contributions and hope you enjoy it here.

New member here from Florida. I found WTA because I'm an admin on another forum owned by Vertical Scope (see the copyright link at the very bottom of the page) and I was perusing their list of forums, so... here I am.

I have been around guns my whole life. Took my first hunter safety course in 1969. Retook it in 2005 because my daughter was taking it and I couldn't find my cert.

I own primarily Glock handguns and carry a 43X daily.

Doing OK.  Glad you decided to join us.  Hope you are well also.  We are a small, unobtrusive forum with a sizeable archive of very good content and almost none of the day to day BS found on so many other fora.
