Just saying hello.  My best friend introduced me to the writings of George Hill and Crusader Weaponry.  While reading and researching online I found this forum.

I am a "has been".  I am a former Marine raised in a Marine Corps family.  Fourth generation Marine with the fifth generation of Marines in the family right behind me.  I am also a former military police officer, a former DoD police officer, and a current firearms enthusiast.  After leaving my favorite job with an explosives and blasting company due to health reasons, I became a professional geek.  I am currently an IT manager for an outsourced sales and marketing company.

Another Thai beer I like is Bier Chang; actually, I think I like it more than Singha.

I never made it to Phuket, spent a lot of time in Chiang Mai before the tourist explosion. Farang movies can be funny in Thai and vice-versa. I use them to try retain what little Thai I remember. Thais are real big on slapstick comedy, if you want to see a bunch of Thais rolling on the floor, give them a little booze and a bunch of Three Stooges DVDs.

Sapporo is a good beer and I like Kirin also. Asahi and Orion(an Okinawan beer) are just nasty imo.

Another turbo super newbie checking in.  Just finished the Uprising books and found myself here. The books were great and this site is great as well.  I live in Eastern Washington, away from the crowds to so to speak.  I hope to become a regular contributor.

Stay away from Sahi...I think it's a rice beer from Korea with a bit of formaldehyde in it.
    Pickled beer...LOL!
My brother was stationed over there and warned me about open bottles and such...LOL!

Hello all, just joined today. I've only recently become a bit of a shooter in my 30's, hell, hadn't even shot a gun before until I reckon I was 33 or so. I currently own a Ruger P90 .45, J.C. Higgins .22 that was my dad's when he was a kid, a Mosin Nagant 7.62x54r, and a Mossberg 500 field gun that I made into a tactical 12ga with an ATI stock, 18.5" barrel and had it duracoated w/a ghosted black on black skull cammo.

I work for the Maryland D.O.C. at a max security institution and am married with a little boy. Hoping to add a 1911 next, perhaps a Remington or one of those Regents. A guy I know will sell me a Regent 1911 w/Wilson parts for about $600. Has had a trigger job and what not done. Nice looking gun. Worth it?

Ditto....did a little series on my blog with a Regent and added parts and such...in the end I found that if you need a cheap "beater" 1911 for whatever reason the Regent is a fine choice...else spend the extra cash up front and get a better pistol....I got a Remington R1 now and am happy with it...also Regent makes a "enhanced" model called the R200 you might like too
