Hello all.....I am brand new to this forum....brought to the site by my son, Maclean. I am a retired LEO with 30 years service to the King County Sheriff's Office. I also served in the US Army, lo these many years ago. I am also crazy about science fiction and in a roundabout way, came to this site through Larry Correia and his recent books about MHI.

I assisted my wife in raising our 5 kids (and I do mean assisted) and taught all of them to shoot. Two of them are LEOs and one is a Navy flier. All of them are better than fair and one is a state certified  instructor...and very good indeed. We are a wel armed bunch and strong believers in the 2nd Amendment....even though one of them is a liberal. (Not Maclean)

Looking forward to talking with many of you and enjoying the exchange of ideas and information.

:coffee  Welcome. My daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids live up in MonteLake Terrace and I spent some teen years in Edmonds.

I stumbled onto this site while doing a search for Monster Hunter Vendetta.  I recently discovered, read, and reread both MHI and MHV.  Both books are now in my top 5 favorite books of all time!  After discovering that Larry Correia is a Co-Founder, I knew I had to join.  I love big game hunting, bow hunting, shooting, and anything to do with guns.  I'm a Utah resident with a CFP and I carry a Taurus PT145 daily.  I have a few other guns too, and I hope to have a gain a large arsenal in the future, as my funding (and wife) allow.  I also frequent utahconcealedcarry.com.

Another new member to this board.  Howdy from Oklahoma!  :clap

I am a long time shooter and gun collector.  Professional gunsmith running my own shop in western Oklahoma City, OK.

    Truitt and Son Gunsmithing

My special loves are Enfield rifles, anything with the name Webley that goes BANG and my L1A1.

I do repair, customization, restoration of antique firearms, hot bluing, rust bluing, niter bluing, color case hardening, plating and deplating, action jobs, stock work.

As far as I know, I am the only one restoring milled .455 Webley cylinders to their original factory length so they can fire the .455 cartridge.

My Enfield Eddystone P17 that I inherited needs some work and I've been considering having my STI Spartan color case hardened.  I'll check out your site.

Well I'm back. :D As some of you may remember, FMJ is pretty much like a brother to me, and so he got me on here. So yeah, I've had a lot of ups and down since the last time was on. Didn't get on a computer much during the summer, and now I'm starting to settle down again.

I love forums, always have, and I like how this one is active. So I really hope I don't have to take a break again. :D

Hi. Western Tennessee here. Found this site through Monster Hunter Nation. I think this is definitely my kinda place. Been shooting since I was four, worn three different badges at different places, ( I was a drifter in my youth, lol ) and now sit as a board member for our local gun club. Always nice to find a place where shooters are the focus, btw. Great site!
Give me Liberty or . . . . . or I'll just take it. Either way works for me.

I guess I never introduced myself...

I grew up in western NY, enlisted in the army infantry at 19 after getting sick of college, and was stationed at Fort Bliss (El Paso, TX) with 2/7 Cav, later 4-6 Infantry, from 2005-2009. I got out in May 2009 on medical after wrecking my left knee in combatives training a few months after redeploying from Mosul (06-07).

I moved to Alaska in the summer of 2009 to attend UAF for mining engineering, and have since switched to geology. Engineering = super boring. I'll probably go to grad school in Idaho or Utah so maybe I'll meet some of you in a few years.

Not much else to tell. I like guns a lot. That's probably the salient point here.

If there's two things Utah has, its guns and rocks. You'd love it here.

    Howdy folks,

I've been lurking here for quite a while & finally joined. I moved to Utah 10 years ago to work in the oilpatch-mudlogging & wellsite Geology. I love the travelling but the hours & "no guns at the rig" aren't the best.

I just got into shooting a couple of years ago and I've been having all kinds of fun with it. I've always been more into sports like mountain biking, dirt biking, whitewater kayaking, skiing, etc. I mostly like old military surplus guns but I probably shoot a Glock 23 more than anything. Shooting is more of a sport/hobby for me than a serious defensive pursuit but I would like to do some training courses.

I've already learned a lot from y'all, thanks for creating  a great forum.
