I'm the one with the SAW.  My twin has the M-16.  That was my first deployment at Abu Gharaib.  Lovely place full of love and charity.

Call me ignorant, but if you're in a dangerous place, how come the weapons aren't loaded?  Is that in case someone jumps you they can't shoot you right away?

Having loaded weapons would have looked too scary for the detainees and on most FOB's and bases you aren't allowed to have your weapon loaded.  At Camp Buerhing, Kuwait, you aren't allowed to even carry your ammo around. Its the state of affairs in the military.

Here are some of me down range.

I miss it but I will be back in just over a year.
You only have power over people so long as you don't take everything away from them. But when you've robbed a man of everything, he's no longer in your power - he's free again. -Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. - Ayn Rand

"I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do." -Robert Heinlein.

One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws, but conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. –– Martin Luther King, Jr.

Only you could make that rifle look like a 10/22.

Deerhunter - I'm not sure but is that two shotguns you're holding?  I see a cruiser model AND  a traditional stock...

In fact, I see something that looks like a bracket holding the two slides together...

    ZOMGBBQ!  It's a 1760! (ie:two 870's made into one!)

What's the BATFE think about that?

    Why would they care?

Both shotguns have barrels over 18" and OAL over 26".
Both shotguns fire one round per trigger pull.

    Why would they care?

Because it's cool.  Obviously.  BATFE hates all things cool.

    Dang, that's a good point.

Quite possibly the primary saving grace from gun grabbers is that it's so tricky to define 'cool' as it pertains to firearms in legal terms.
