Odd pop-ups?
« on: January 03, 2017, 10:21:46 PM »
Maybe it was a fluke, but I opened a couple tabs from WTA and all of them turned into fake warnings that my tablet was infected. Sueliona.top was quickly added to my router block list, and the issue went away.

I'm suspecting it is a rogue ad as my wife had something similar pop up from another respectable site.

Anyone else seeing similar activity?

I got them too starting about 3-4 hours ago.  Weird "You've Won This! or That! or You Qualify for This! or That!" kind of stuff.  Seems to have subsided in the last half hour or so.

I'm getting them too.  Though I don't know if I'd call them pop-ups, more like redirects.  WTA loads, then suddenly I'm on another site.  It's getting very annoying.

It just happened to me twice.  Click on a topic, and all of a sudden I am somewhere else and can't back out.  All I can do is close out the tab and reopen in a new one.  It is definitely something going on with this site.

Yeah redirects are a good way to describe it. Just the first time I've had any issues whatsoever with having all my blockers off here.

    It was jarring.

Good description.  It happens to me when using my phone, but not when using a laptop.  Phone is on ATT, laptop connects through a Verizon wireless network.

ETA: It has now happened once on the laptop, but for whatever reason (maybe luck) I have had better results with the Verizon connection so far.

    I have notified Phil.

Yeah, got that last night on my phone.   Of course I didn't click on anything,  had to reboot the phone to get around the damn thing.

I did not have the issue earlier in the day on my phone, non Tapatalk user.  After my comment the issue/redirects did not occur again.  They were weird.

Anyone else having issues with pages loading.  Pages open and look normal, then after 5 seconds or so the page shifts.  I mean just jumps to a different position on the screen.  I assumed it was an issue with my internet connection being slow in the evenings but now am wondering if anyone else has noticed this issue.  The image is stable long enough for me to move the mouse and start to click, but then jumps and I am not sure what I clicked on.  Most likely this is just my connection being overloaded with all the kids on the net over Christmas break, but I thought I would ask.

If you are able to also get the URL it redirected you to that will help a lot. I need to narrow down what is driving this from the ad network.

I was using Android 5.0.1 on my phone, default android phone browser.    It was the same URL that Adskii mentioned in the first post.

Sorry, I deleted my browser history.  It hasn't happened again today, but if it does, I'll post the link.

IllinoisThere’s a story about a turtle and a scorpion. Scorpion is stranded on a river bank. Turtle sees this and asks Scorpion to get on his back and he’ll take him across the river. Scorpion gets on Turtle’s back and they go into the river. When they’re about halfway across, Scorpion stings Turtle. As Turtle is sinking, knowing they’re both going to die, he asks Scorpion "Why did you sting me, we’re both going to die?" and Scorpion says "It’s not my fault; it’s what I am."
