Does anyone know of a free yet safe YouTube downloader? I have a power point that I want to fill with cool videos and I need a downloader that's not going to infest my work laptop.

I haven't done any downloading for a bit, but I was using ATube Catcher.  It does more than just Youtube.

I haven't noticed any spyware.

Just download Realplayer it has a downloader that works on Youtube, Vimo and liveleak.

If you use Firefox then there is an extension called Download Helper

I'm not that familiar with powerpoint, so I don't know what video file format you need.
I use Realplayer to download flash videos, generally in .flv format. Then I have a program called Prism Video File Converter, the free version of which can convert these into .avi's if I need them in another format.
