if this is about shtf prep, there aint gonna be any doc, and for sure, there's gonna be no followup care for months like you'd need. About all that's going to be feasible, to "help" the seriously wounded, is a coup de grace thrust of knife into the base of skull.. can't waste the ammo or make the noise, you see. if leg or arm is cut or blown off, I can't see it taking 20 seconds to kill you, or more than a very few seconds before you pass out?

There just happens to be a bajillion different kinds of SHTF.

Now a few of those SHTF situations will never return to normal, but the majority of the situations are either localized in their destruction or only SHTF for a limited period of time.  Assuming you should kill members of your family/party because of a severe wound and they'll be slowing you down is... unnerving to say the least.   

Hell a lot of the time it's better to stay put than to go anywhere.

Learning basic and advanced first aid can be the difference between life and death.  Assuming someone will die so you should just end it for them is sociopath.  People can survive a lot more than the movies lead us to believe.

Having done a quick google search...  I believe either he, or a wannabe is on our board.

Some of the things he has in common with our newest member: 'Spider hole' fetish - Check.  Suppressed M4 - Check.  Wierd peanut butter and Tang recipe - Check.  Disregard of multiple suggestions that he play nice - Check.

My only comment is that if you've got an advanced kit, make sure that you know how to use it, or you're providing the materials for someone who knows how to use it.  First do no harm and all that.
