[Help. I forget whom shared that... :facepalm]

The reality is, much knowledge has been passed down, and continues to be, and we quote these things to survive threats.

    I can't remember which news outlet showed it, but after an assailant was shot dead by a cc bystander not that long ago, they interviewed an older lady who was a witness. She said, "The only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." Maybe someone will remember that one and post a link.

    Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
    Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.

    Truth be told, I'm a complete sucker for quotes, so this thread is right up my alley. Who is the author of your quote, scarville? I've looked it up before, but it just brings me to we the armed and your Sig line.

    Ok, cool.

    I've always enjoyed it. To me sinners means like it gives you a chance against muggers or the criminal element. While the "righteous" would represent mass disarmament by politicians who are morally obligated to enact strict gun control laws........ For the children.

    Perhaps delving into the obvious, but I think interpretation differs from person to person.

    Had a rather heated conversation with a loved one regarding why I carry a gun. The conversation was sparked by a report that ISIS had made credible threats against shopping malls in the U.S. Since we live within spitting distance of one of the largest malls in the country, this was of particular concern to me. I noted that I was going to order a new, better holster (done) and start carrying my gun regularly. My family member didn't understand this: in their opinion, my little pistol would be no match for a bunch of fanatics with suicide bombs and assault weapons (their words), and ISIS will probably take over the country anyway, so I shouldn't bother carrying.

    They're right, at least partly: if I find myself stuck in a terrorist attack, or an active-shooter situation, there's a good chance that I will die. But I refuse to die begging for mercy, or drowning in my own blood as some fanatic saws my head off with a rusty machete. If I die, I'm going to die fighting.
