Remington 870 safety problems
« on: January 17, 2017, 06:32:39 pm »
I was asked to look at a gun for a friend that is having issues with the safety not working at all. The button whether it is on safe or fire will still let the hammer fall and fire off a round. After cleaning all the gunk out of the trigger group and replacing the safety button, detent ball and spring I am still experiencing the same issues.
Obviously something isn't stopping the trigger from being able to be pulled when in safe mode, does anyone have a ideas what could be causing this?

Well I managed to figure out the issue of the faulty on my own. It appears the one of the two ear on the backside of the trigger that actually engages the safety has broken off the trigger.
Now I am in search of a replacement trigger and how to actually remove the trigger on the gun. Have found many resources on disassembly of most of the trigger group parts but none on the trigger itself. Anyone have and ideas of a place to find a new trigger and info on removal?
