The old FC Wad did just fine through the Remington "Tactical Choke".   The wad did get a bit chewed up and came off the shot column sooner, but it still worked just fine.

BTW... The Breaching Choke that Remington calls the "Tactical Choke" is truly a terrible choke for all practical purposes.  And anyone that has one on their Remington shotgun - should replace it.   It is only useful for actual breaching operations.

It appears the forward "flaps" have been replaced in the Flite-Control-Flex with multiple slits in the same area:

Interesting, I might just buy it because it looks so bad ass lol.  But, seriously the specs look good, so I might give it a go.

i have used quite a bit of the original FC duck and goose hunting, i don't know if the belted shot makes much difference but the wad definitely works a charm and has killed plenty of ducks and geese for me. i haven't used it with a ported choke so i can't speak to that but the new wad looks promising and i am curious to try it out.
IllinoisThere’s a story about a turtle and a scorpion. Scorpion is stranded on a river bank. Turtle sees this and asks Scorpion to get on his back and he’ll take him across the river. Scorpion gets on Turtle’s back and they go into the river. When they’re about halfway across, Scorpion stings Turtle. As Turtle is sinking, knowing they’re both going to die, he asks Scorpion "Why did you sting me, we’re both going to die?" and Scorpion says "It’s not my fault; it’s what I am."

Given the popularity of extended and ported choke tubes, I would not be suprised if Federal moves to this new Flite-Control Flex design for their entire Flite-Control line. I would especially like to see Flite-Control buckshot added to the 20 gauge and  3.5" 12 bore product lines.

Looks like the wad would stick with the shot column even longer than the previous design, effectively extending the range of those tight shot patterns. Interesting.

    Possibly?

"You can now shoot Black Cloud FliteControl FLEX with all chokes, as the newly engineered brake fins on the wad open from the rear and remain deployed. The new wad has slits to allow air flow and reinforced gussets on the rear fins to hold them in place when deployed, which means the payloads separate exactly when they’re supposed to, regardless of gas pressure behind them."
