What are the shipping costs from Latvia?  That ammo looks sweet, I would love to test out all their tactical line.

I'm reminded of that scene in Alien Nation where Tugg bought it. But those were BRI Sabot slugs. I'm also aware that neither of these will pass through an engine block but still. The AP-20 is impressive.

Century Arms has some of their stuff, but not the pointy slug.

That's crazy performance from a shotgun slug right there!!!  I bought a boat load of the MONOLIT28 slugs when SG was blowing them out.  The easy part might be machining the pointy slug, but the hard part would be getting that polymer butt plug for it.

    Maybe a hard wax?

Now that's a Brownie load.  Find a case of that and a youth 20 ga with a slug barrel for the wife, and I can do what ever I like with the 870 tactical.

I don't think you can find ANY wax that could hold up to that kind of pressures and remain intact.  What the polymer piece does is stabilize the projectile like arrow fletching and it stays attached unless enough resistance is met going though a hard medium to strip it off the back...and they are on there pretty good too as I'm suspecting it's similar construction to the MONOLIT28 slugs.

The plastic base could just be threaded onto a stud on the back of the steel dart. Alternatively, it could be cast in place and then turned to final diameter. I don't see any advantage to casting over threading, off the top of my head.

If I'm not mistaken a Brenneke (sp?) slug's stabilizing base is held on with a wood screw. Probably the same here with a precast plastic base held in place by a screw with no turning needed.

I don't know what I'd ever need these for, but I must have them.
I'm not saying you should use an M1A for home defense, but I'm also not saying you shouldn't.
