I thought stevens were turkish?
This one says right on the barrel that it's made in the P.R.C.
Anyway, today I got out and shot it. It functioned 100%. Recoil also wasn't bad at all. I shot around 30-40 slugs/buck through it, and felt fine afterwards. I was wearing a cotton T-shirt and a TAD gear SF sweater (thicker/wool).
I sighted in at 25 yards with slugs, and had to adjust the rear sight to the point that it bottomed out to get them to hit where I aimed. It did hit where I aimed, but there is no more adjustment left. Windage wasn't so bad, only requiring about 20% of the sights travel to achieve windage zero.
Patterns were about what I expected from a CYL bore shotgun using non-Flite Control buckshot, and the slugs landed in a fist-sized group at 25 yards fired from the standing position.
I was a bit disappointed by the amount I had to crank on the sight, to achieve zero, but achieve it I did, and it's not like it's a super precisely machined instrument.
Over-all, I remain VERY pleased with this shotgun and plan on killing a deer with it next season.
