Windham Armory AR's ... Any experiance's ?
« on: June 02, 2012, 12:13:08 AM »
Like the title says.  Did a search and didn't find anything other a few, "I handled it, seemed okay" comments.  How bout it guys?

And yes I know Crusader kicks their butt  :thumbup1  A guy at work is asking and I admit to being curious myself.  We can pick up a base no sight model for just over 800 out the door.
Yes I live in California.  Please dont hold that against me.

Windham is the owner and a bunch of former employees of bushmaster. After the no complete clause was up they started back up as Windham, even using a bunch of the same Bushmaster tooling.  So they are by no means a "new" company when it comes to experience.

FWIW I would still get a Crusader Bones over a base windham...

Oh I agree, in fact I think I maybe going with a Crusader lower and then getting an upper from them down the road.  This is more of a curiousity and learning question for me.  Just gotta wait for some cash to come in. ::)

I started a thread about the 'Bones,' here: http://wethearmed.com/crusader-weaponry/no-more-'bones'-rifles/

Apparently, they are temporarily discontinued.  If I understand correctly, when they come back, they are going to be significantly more money - not to say that they would not be worth it, but just so you know...

[A S&W J-frame] is kinda like a stick shift car. It is harder to drive and harder to master than an auto, but you can do things with it that you can't do with an auto. Just because you're too incompetent to do it doesn't mean it can't be done.

Windham... The noble restart of the old Bushmaster factory.
The owner just sold out again.
