This new Winchester is of course also made in Japan... and has the safety on the tang to meet importation. And it is better than an ugly Cross Bolt safety... The gun remains gorgeous. And it's smooth and well rounded... the gun is a work of art and the price is not unreasonable for what your getting these days. SMOKES a Marlin or Rossi all to hell. Would I trade my Marlin for one? If I had such as offer - Oh Hell Yes.
"...and has the safety on the tang to meet importation." GeorgeHill This imported 1886 has the original non-rebounding half cock hammer and solid tang design. http://www.chiappafirearms.com/products/78 If I am not mistaken the import safety requirements only apply to handguns.
That's bulky stuff then . May have to try some in the .444 just for grins.
"I confess, without shame, I am sick and tired of fightingits glory is all moonshine; even success the most brilliant is over dead and mangled bodies, with the anguish and lamentations of distant families, appealing to me for sons, husbands and fathers ... tis only those who have never heard a shot, never heard the shriek and groans of the wounded and lacerated ... that cry aloud for more blood, more vengeance, more desolation."
