I don't care about the correct lower so much (though that would be nice), but the barrel is a must for me simply because I love how light, maneuverable, and handy the A1 is. It's a full-size rifle, yet it's as handy if not handier than most modern AR carbines.

I was also thinking about doing a replica GAU-5A/A or XM-177E1 build, but now that Troy's making those, I'd just buy one of those.

:shocked Dang Raptor, you're growing up right before my very eyes  :cool.

When I first joined the forum, you were fighting to get a single gun in your home and now you're already planning what sounds to be the next four AR-15 purchases, some of which will need class 3 tax stamps (SBR).

Save some evil black rifles for the rest of us to buy, why don't you  ;).

Those are a ways off. I need to move into my own place before I start buying any more guns (and that's not just my folks finally putting their foot down either. I really do need to get my butt out the door and into a home of my own), and there are a bunch of other guns on my Buy List too. Which actually just got longer. I should've said 'no' when my local gun merchant offered to let me handle that Single-Six.   :bash  Now I need one of those, a Blackhawk of some caliber, and a replica Cavalry-model Peacemaker.  :facepalm

     :hmm

Interesting. Why the interest in single actions? I am interested in the SAA models by Uberti, but that's just because it's an identical replica. To me, the Ruger single action models are like comparing a colt python and a Smith and Wesson TRR8. Sure the TRR8/Ruger SA is made with modern materials and  better in every single way than the Colt python/Uberti replica, but it just doesn't have that old world class to it. The graceful lines and a lot of the soul are lost with the newer, "better" offerings.

I've always had a passing interest in single-actions, but I'd never handled one before, and the gun merchant was showing the Single-Six to some other customers, so I asked to handle it before he put it away. It balanced so absolutely perfectly in my hand that it felt like an extension of my arm. I barely noticed the weight. Didn't fatigue my wrist at all to hold it at arm's length, and I have weak, skinny wrists. I'm not sure how long the barrel was, probably either 6.5" or 7.5", but either way I'm pretty sure that's part of what made it balance so well. And I tend to not like longer-barreled revolvers because of my aforementioned weak, skinny wrists.

I've joined a gym and have started working out, fear not.

Anyways, I want the Rugers because they're more practical thanks to the transfer-bar safety and sights that are actually visible and usable (though I'll probably replace the black blade front sight with a fiber optic or gold dot), but I want the replica Peacemaker (I'm leaning Uberti too) because like you said, it has that old-world class to it.

Ok, that makes more sense then. I still like the modern double action, though  :cool.

Regarding the old west guns, I also severely want a Spencer repeating carbine and a Henry lever action rifle. Too bad both are $1000  ::) .

FWIW, if I was going to carry a wheelgun, I'd take a S&W K- or L-Frame over any single-action every day of the week.

On an unrelated note, does anyone have any tips or tricks for getting M-LOK T-nuts set up correctly? I can't for the life of me seem to get the proper spacing/tension/whatever on my flashlight mount. It's not in any danger of falling off, but the front of the mount wiggled side to side (technically up and down since the mounts at the 9-o'clock position) a little bit. Just enough to be annoying. The rear of the mount is rock-solid. For the moment, anyway. I'm afraid if I adjust the front too much, that'll make the back come loose somehow.

I figured as much, seeing as you plan on getting the new model 66 (as do I).

Regarding the M lok issue, I can't help you. I'm an AK fan and am currently of the "Nyet. Rifle is fine" denomination.
