T97
« on: December 04, 2012, 04:17:09 pm »
I just signed up for a pre-sale on one of these:

A Chinese T97 in 5.56.

Supposed to be here in the spring.  I hope it does.  I got burned trying to buy one a few years back.  A dealer was taking deposits on pre-orders that he hadn't had cleared through CBSA or the CFC.  When the guns proved to be un-importable, the flufftard refused to reimburse the deposits.

So we'll see.

That's a rather unique long-term life/business plan, to piss off people who already show a predilection for firearms.

    Fascinating.  :scrutiny

Amazingly the guy is still in business.  He's managed to deflect the furor onto the government not approving the import rather than "I took a hundred dollars from you for s___ I can't provide, and I won't give it back."

If I ever meet the fool in person I'm going to s___ on his face.

Very interisting. I wouldn't want one myself but it is one of those guns I would love to play around with, see how it shots and works etc...

What are the laws up there on magazine capacity? I was under the impression it was 5 rounds for rifles and 10 rounds for handguns. Am I wrong, I hope?

    You are not totally wrong.

It's 10 rounds for semi-automatic handguns and 5 for semi-automatic center fire long guns.  But rimfire long guns are unlimited as are manually operated center fire.  But the restriction is for the mag, not the gun.  So you can use a 10rd LAR-15 mag in an AR-15 rifle.  And if Remington ever stamps their 30rd 7615 mags as "For 7615 rifle only" they will sell hundreds of thousands of them in Canada overnight.

Oh that is interisting. I would never have guessed that. I would have asumed that the mag was banned period or at least its use in a semi auto if it was over 10 rounds. Thanks for the information.
