My stainless 10/22 will jam once or twice every 10rnd Ruger made mag.  The empty will wind up in a "stovepipe" or flipped 180 degrees blocking the bolt or some other way to stop up the works.  It always has a fresh round going into battery along with the jam.  I was watching my buddy shoot it and the spent cases went everywhere from almost parallel to the barrel to mebbe 110 degrees out..   so I'm thinking something's FUBAR in the ejector works...

This is the first time I've ever had a 10/22 jam up on me, and I've had at least a dozen in my paws since my teens...  but all of them have been blued.  This is the first stainless one I've owned.  Does that make a difference??

No problems with my stainless 10/22. If you do get something from Volquartzen, may I suggest their hammer and sear kit? I dropped one in mine and it's a fantastic improvement.

I ordered a Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor and got it in the mail this week.  $11.95 & free shipping from http://www.rimfiresports.com/ (Had to wait for my once a month payday) 

I borrowed a pick from one of the guys at the bus garage to pull the spring and pin back so I could install it this weekend.  It took longer to to break the rifle down and put it back together than it did to drop the extractor in.

When I get a chance to get to the range for a test firing, I'll let you guys know how it works.

If you start down the Volquartsen road you'll end up with a mostly Volquartsen gun these days. Ruger quality control really has taken a dump.

Yep, the only things on my rifle that are still original are the barrel, receiver, and bolt.   

Mine did the same thing.  Buy yourself a new Volquartsen extractor and that should take care of it.    The factory extractor sucks.
