Q The Fix
« on: January 31, 2017, 09:39:26 PM »
Is anyone else excited about this one? I saw the posts about it from SHOT, and then on RECOIL magazine, and then I get an email that they are avail for pre-order... Press is big on this one, and they way I read it, I should start selling my guns to save up... Or is it all hype?

I'm fairly new to this forum, so I don't know how many people are into precision shooting.

The Fix looks like a good system. It is a bit expensive for myself, but for there targeted customers it looks right in line with pricing.

Hopefully it will cause some other rifle makers to make a similar system cheaper.

I do lots with the local PRS crowd.  With what they're offering, I don't think it will be a PRS gun.  It looks like a nice light hunting rig, but I don't see them being used in competitions.  For what it is, $2795 seems too much to me considering what I can have a local gunsmith put together.

The weight savings is huge, but I don't think it's as important in the precision world.

As I stated, Im new to the PRS stuff, and did a little bit of research, still trying to decide on good rifles that will NOT kill my bank account, but besides AI and Surgeon Rifles which are out of my budget, you have the Ruger Precision or a Remmy700. You're right about the weight, which is a BIG selling point for the Q. I guess I should wait for actual customer reviews to come out, but it may just be the hype and it looks pretty sweet that makes me want to just sell my soul and buy one.

The RPR is a nice starter rifle. Tikka has some nice Rifles. If you want a custom rifle check out my friend at http://ES-tactical.com. He will build you a fantastic rifle for about $2k.

I will say, from what my friends are saying about The Fix, stay away for a little while.  There's rumor of a lawsuit and that they will get creamed.
