Title: LWRC REPR review
Post by: Thernlund on June 08, 2011, 11:17:00 am
Picked this up the The Firearms Blog.  I found it interesting.

LWRCI REPR .308 Review - Vuurwapen Blog (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riM7uKpakJo#ws)

Of particular interest to me was the forward assist issue mentioned around minute eight.  Seems like a pretty glaring issue.  The reviewer said it was a training issue, which is true I guess.  But I find myself wondering how easy it is to induce.  If it's very easy, then I expect that no amount of training would eliminate the issue completely.

Overall it seems that it's not up to the price they ask for it.  Hmm.

I watched that this morning as well. In my opinion, no bueno. Especially not for 4k.

Ooooh, they put the Magpul PRS on it. Hell, I have one too. And I only paid $2,600 (with the PRS) for my custom AR. Which STILL isn't in my possession.

Yup. Two and a half years. But hey! Prices went up a little for all my parts I could look at it as more of a bargain!!!

Yeah, no.

No way in hell I'd buy one of these instead of a KAC, LaRue, or LMT .308 rifle (or even a Noveske, although I'm not thrilled that they use Armalite pattern mags). No way.

DEA evidently thinks enough of the REPR to issue it to their people in Afghanistan.....................

So he says that the recoil feels harsher... then he says that they built the gun with recoil management in mind.   :scrutiny   :hmm   :facepalm

The Broadsword just flat out smokes that so bad...   It seriously feels like one is shooting a 5.56mm.   And it's more accurate... for 1/2 the price.
WHY would anyone pick an LWRC over a Broadsword? :shrug

You mean, one guy from the DEA with "pull" thought enough about the REPR.

Too often it's one guy (in charge of weapons procurement) with a hard on for a gun that makes the push.

The DEA also supposedly chose Rock River for 5.56 rifles. 'Nuff said.

Brand recognition.  Crusader is still new guy on the block.

Send him a rifle to review.  http://vuurwapenblog.com/ (http://vuurwapenblog.com/)
