Ah yes brotherly love...

. What's the difference between a stranger and a brother? Brothers always laugh at you first then ask if you are okay.
Anyway, yes, I did make the trade. Here is the photo the boy sent me. I haven't took any of it yet.

It came with an original rubber grip with the wood inlays but after trying both, I'm keeping the Hogue on it. I may try to find a nice set of Bill Jordan grips if such can be had.
As for the Garand being worth more, it was in okay condition and the kid (one of my fellow officer's sons) collects old war guns as a hobby and I've been lusting over a GP-100. It was just a case of right place, right time. I love it too. It is smoother than butter, balanced just right and lines up perfectly every time. It is defintely my off duty / "go to" gun. Its one of those "soulmate" guns...
I warned the boy that the Garand has now tasted human blood and may want more.
Now I'm off to find a holster and speedloader case.
