I first heard it in the Rock's vengeance movie "Faster." I really liked it AND the movie despite the plot holes, etc. It went along great with the tone of the flick.

This is my jam. Rose Tattoo by The Dropkick Murphys

The lil' boys and I listen to this every morning that I take them to school. Matty (strangelittleman's wide-open, throttle stuck, lighting struck mini-me) requested it one morning and it became our morning ritual. He asked his mom for Dropkicks one morning and she didn't know what he was talking about

Also, these guys have been mentioned before in another thread, but they bear repeating:

    Elbow.

*FANTASTIC* band to catch live, and solid songwriting. Seldom Seen Kid is easily one of the best albums of the first decade.

Of the music I'll admit to liking here, this is my favourite. It's a charming little ditty that serves as a warning against letting workmen into you home.

And more experimental side of Maynard James Keenan (of Tool fame): Puscifer

Some of his other stuff with that projects gets as... questionable as the band's name, but there's some cool stuff, too.

That whole album is incredible. Know how I learned about that song? It was in the commercial for the Transformers:Fall of Cybertron video game.

I feel ashamed.  Well, not really because I don't actually feel shame.  But I am currently enjoying hillbilly rap:

Although I do have to say that I find the way they are handling the American flag in the video is disrespectful.

If I saw folks handling the Canadian flag in the same way, I might have to slap a boy.

Marc Broussard - Most of his music is mixed more R & B, but the show I caught was bluesy/funky southern rock.

Not sure how I missed this thread, but nothing gets me pumped like bliss n eso or the hilltop hoods. Some other artists in this vain are Briggs, the herd, Thundamentals, Seth sentry, full tote odds, horrorshow, 360.... The list goes on.

But any of that stuff is gold, especially the 2 listed favourites.

Word on the street is that Doug W. Knows some good hillbilly rap (or "hick hop" as he affectionately calls it), or so I've heard. I would never listen to such music  ;).

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.
