Yeah, I would never buy a Hi-Point, but if one was given to me, I'd keep it. They have a reputation for terrible ergonomics, but they tend to function.
If nothing else, it would be a great gun to hand a new shooter, after they experience a quality gun. "Now, the gun you were shooting can be found used for about $400. Let's say you want to be a cheap SOB and only spend $100. This is what you will get."
