You know, I'm pretty darn sure that's fake, but it wouldn't surprise me too terribly much if it was real.

Now, as to why someone would do that to themselves . . . :vomit

Starts off normal, but gets freakier as it goes on, with the really freaky bit at about the 4:30 mark.

    I got one better...

    Imagine....
You're on the battle field, gunfire all around you. you spot a tank about 180 yards away, you ready your ERYX Anti-tank missile, pull the trigger and; the rocket lurches out of the launcher, falls to the ground two feet in front of you and lays there.... as the tank turns and blows you off the face of the map with it's big 50s.

Actually, I remember hearing stories of Dragon missiles behaving similarly, right before the Army finally got rid of them.  Except the expelling charge worked enough to get them 25-50 yds downrange.  Then you'd have to call EOD to blow it up befoe you could fire the next one, which would do the exact same thing.

You know, having watched some of Sheen's Sheen Corner performances on youtube, I have to wonder if the whole thing is not just a hoax like the Joaquin Phoenix thing.

It's an uncanny performance, I'd say.

That thought has crossed my mind.  A great big finger to the media.  That would be EPIC.

The Dragon is a real piece of work.  It flies at only about 100 meters per second, and the missileer has to keep it locked onto its target the whole way, exposing him to fire.  Its maneuvering capability is provided not by movable control surfaces or a pivoting rocket venturi (thrust vectoring, basically), but by sixty (or maybe sixty-four, I don't recall off the top of my head) tiny spherical rocket motors, each firing only once to correct the flight path.

Hopefully George Hill can chime in with his own perspective on the Dragon missile.  He once told me a hilarious story about it.

The Dragon... perhaps the US Army's most Suicidal weapons system ever.
Let's see, you know it is the precursor to the TOW.  Which is a great weapon.  But like the TOW, the Dragon is Tube Launched, Optically Wire Guided.  So it unravels a thin wire as it flies.
This wire, if the Missile flies over too much brush, can break.  This causes the missile to fly uncontrollably and erratically, going in different directions and even spinning... and then explodes.  It can even fly back in the direction of the operators.  This is a special kind of thrill.  Especially since the Dragon II had a dual warhead designed for the penetration of Soviet Reactive Armor.  Big Badda-boom.
Most of the time though... the Dragon flew straight.  And by straight, I mean it would jerk around, up and down, left and right... looking like it's going to miss.  And you can't steer it.  You have to hold the Tracker on the target the whole way.  Or it will miss.
Missing is bad.  Because with the Dragon, your target is Soviet Armor.  Tanks.  Tanks with big guns.
Now say, you do everything right... It takes about 11 seconds to reach your target.  11 very long, agonizingly nerve racking seconds.
Reason being is because that Soviet Tank you just shot at... it takes only 4 seconds for it to spin it's turret and hose you down with coax machinegun fire.
And they will do just that.
Because the Dragon emits a huge Launch Signature.  A giant white plume of smoke that tells everyone everywhere... exactly your specific location... where you are... holding that freaking Tracker unit on target while that freaking missile bounces around like a retarded pixie on crack making those stupid popping sounds as it goes.
The only good thing about the Dragon... the Dragon II that is... is that when it did hit, it hit with authority.

No.  Because if it is, I'm surely going to hell for watching the oil field blaze and thinking "Oh, they already did that on Ultraman AND in Godzilla vs. Cosmic Monster...."

    :(

And also thinking "We're Japan.  We're READY for this s___!"

^^^That.  Sometimes in the some of the expansions when you go to pick up things the developers didn't give much room for error.  The crosshairs have to be so precisely on the item that it is possible to miss.  So in the comic he's trying to get the ammo, and then...

Note how the crosshairs are super close to both the ammo and water, and imagine the ammo floating and bobbing slightly.
