I don't remember any of the other Mad Max movies being particularly high concept.

Just sayin'.

I intend to catch it in the theatre, but moving next weekend (for the second time this year) may well hinder that.

Hey, I loved SUCKER PUNCH too.
Thin Plot - but who cares?  It's about violent cute chicks with guns.  You need more than that?

Yeah, to not have to have to slog through a half hour of boredom and nothingness intercut with scenes of cute chicks getting the snot beat out of them in order to get to see the violent cute chicks with guns.

Only Ingmar Bergman film I've ever seen was The Seventh Seal, which I had to watch for one of my classes in college, though I'll be darned if I can remember which one. I enjoyed it, though at the same time freely admit that it's pretty sick, twisted, and just plain messed up at times. It's what I like to call a "slow-motion trainwreck movie," i.e. you really can't stop watching it even if you really want to.

I mean, the splosions and vrooms-vrooms were great and all, but I need a little more to get my mental cylinders firing.  :shrug  (Actually, there was a review at Forbes I thought raised a bunch of valid points in this regard. Myself, I couldn't really put my finger on what didn't click for me, except that it seemed to be in the story, rather than the visuals.)

Honestly, I've never seen anything George Miller directed that I want to see again. He's the motarded, homo-erotic ass-child of Stanley Kubrick and Tim Burton.

Oooookay SLM. Um well, I loved Mad Max and Road Warrior. Does that make me that there homerneurotical or motardical?  ;)

Ugh!  I hated The Seventh Seal.  Watching it was like mixing a paper cut and lemon juice.

I had to write my review twice.  Once to get out of my system what I really thought of it then once more to say what the professor wanted to hear.

Yo, some of that's pretty entertaining.  (Especially the stretch where every Christmas issue had a James Bond short story...)

That B-reel is pretty interesting.  I always like to see behind the scenes.  Makes me wonder what their budget was for sunscreen.

Went to see it last night with Lupinus and a few others.

"Whacked out over the top" is what I would describe it as. Lots of excellent carnage and destruction. Some weird s___ at times but otherwise, it's just some spectacular violence.

The wife and I went to see it over the weekend.  I honestly have to say I liked it as well -- maybe a little better -- than the Avengers. It was almost non-stop action.  A car chase movie with goofy names and over the top comic book villains.  So, naturally, I liked it.

I was a little skeptical of Tom Hardy as Max but, while I think his performance as Bane was better, he was a credible Max.  Charlize Theron is always worth watching even with her hair chopped off and part of her left arm missing (CGI, I'm sure).

It may or may not spark a sequel -- after only two weeks it got it's butt kicked at the box office by "Pitch Perfect 2".  OTOH, the theater was about two thirds full is which is unusual for a Sunday morning.

Anyone who would go see a "musical comedy" (which is what Wikipedia says that is) over Mad Max needs to be exiled.

It'll get a Sequel, it's already made a profit, and is hanging tough weekend to weekend.  Sometimes it's the percentage lost on the Box Office week over week that shows its staying power.  Pitch Perfect already faded over 70% from opening week.  Max is almost down 45% after a few weeks longer run.

Expect it to end globally north of 300 million.  Sequel green lit & hitting theaters about 2018

My wife saw both but has the decency to not drag me to see Pitch Perfect 2.  The daughter and her went and left me in peace (actually I was at work that day :))

According to Box Ofice Mojo, Mad Max and Pitch Perfect 2 were both released on May 15, 2015 and PP2 beat out Mad Max on both weekend totals.  I mention it because is was little surprising to me.  On the bright side, I read that there is a sequel already planned (tentatively titled "Mad Max: The Wasteland").

There is also currently a theory - for fans who aren't convinced of Hardy being Max - that Hardy is actually the Feral Boy.

The first time he says his own name is at the end.  And he still doesn't sound quite sure of it.  But the entirety of the Fury Road ordeal *IS* his trial by fire to be worthy of being the new Max.

Saw it. Good movie, but not Mad Max. The movie wasn't ABOUT Max, it was about Furiosa ad the escape. An Easter Egg that was pointed out was the little music box Max was playing with....is it the same one that the original Max gave to the Feral Kid? Is THIS Max the grown up Feral Kid?

Does ANYONE see the incredible wit of casting the Toecutter as Immortan Joe? That's right, the ORIGINAL Mad Max bad guy is back...:D Hugh Keays-Bryne. THAT was a touch of brilliance.

Finally saw it today.  I enjoyed it as a post-apocalyptic movie,......with Mad max as a character.

I ain't going to diss it, it's straight action, with some cool vehicles (some abominations too) and I didn't start thinking "god I wonder when this will be over", but it wasn't mad max.

The way I look at it is this:

I'll pass on the DVD when it's new and $24.99.  And $19.99.   I'll buy it when it hits $12.99, but BEFORE it goes down to $9.
