    Quote
TWO MULTIPLE NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLING AUTHORS TEAM UP TO EXPAND LARRY CORREIA'S MONSTER HUNTER UNIVERSE!

When Marine Private Oliver Chadwick Gardenier is killed in the Marine Bombing in Beirut, somebody who might be Saint Peter gives him a choice: Go to Heaven, which while nice might be a little boring, or return to Earth. The Boss has a mission for him and he's to look for a sign.

Unfortunately, the sign is "57." Which, given the food services contract in Bethesda Hospital, creates some difficulty. Eventually, it appears that God's will is for Chad to join a group called "Monster Hunters International" and protect people from things that go bump in the night. From there, things trend downhill.

Monster Hunter Memoirs is the (mostly) true story of the life and times of one of MHI's most effective—and flamboyant—hunters. Pro-tips for up and coming hunters range from how to dress appropriately for jogging (low-profile body armor and multiple weapons) to how to develop contacts among the Japanese yakuza (killing a guy's boss and getting him promoted works), to why it's not a good idea to make billy goat jokes to trolls.

Grunge harkens back to the Golden Days of Monster Hunting when Reagan was in office, Ray and Susan Shackleford were top hunters and Seattle sushi was authentic.

Ringo's been posting snippets on Facebook. I cannot freakin' wait. Also, the made me laugh so hard that I think I might have given myself a hernia.

I want to see a Larry Correia - Jim Butcher collaboration.
Just finished "The Aeronaught's Windless" by Jim - and it was fantastic on the level of Larry's Grimnoir.

If you have not, try Her Brother's Keeper. I liked it better than SotBS.

I like space opera more than epic fantasy, though.

Not a huge Ringo fan, but am looking forward to what he brings to the MHI universe.

    Off of Audible. Kupari

I seldom get desperate enough for "Christian romances" these days. I might have read that other one on a road trip years ago...I will read anything if I am desperate. I average about five books a week, and have since junior high.

I read the Kupari book. It is fan-freaking-tastic! Definitely pick it up if you haven't already.

I'm pretty sure that Mama Raptor got the Wiseman book out of the library once. If I remember right, Little Brother got ahold of the book and read aloud from it in a hillariously over-the-top and overdramatic fashion, which caused Papa Raptor and I to damn near wet our pants from laughing so hard. Mama Raptor, sadly, was not nearly as amused.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Ringo does with the MHI universe.   I follow him on Facebook and have read some of the snippets.  I try to avoid reading too much of them though, I don't want to spoil the book.

I've been listening to his first book,  A Hymn Before Battle on audible right now.  It's pretty good.  I haven't got to the actual combat part of the book yet,  but the ramp up in the 5 years before the aliens show up is very interesting.
