    I really like Ken Onion designs, in general.  I just wish he still worked with Kershaw.  CRTK makes good knives, over priced for flippers, but good IMHO. I just prefer the speed safe assisted opening system.

    I picked up a PAL RH-36 recently.  Inherited it from a family estate.  I have cleaned and dressed the edge, and treated the leather handle.  Been working on my first kydex sheath for the knife, and have it about done.

    I will try to post some pics later today.

    Our very own Luke Adams has a knack for doing the occasional custom molded leather sheath for old warriors.  You might want to contact him about the possibility if something more period appropriate appeals to you.

    Appalachian Edge Custom Knives "Bull Shark" this blade is 1/4" thick W2 steel. 12" overall 7" blade. Stacked leather handle, with G10 gaurd and 01 tool steel pommel. Hammered the tang around this one instead of pin.

    Blade Show 2016 Report:

    First - met Ken Brock. He was sitting in on Mitch Strider's booth.  Nice guy, got to handle one of his blades he'd made for someone else - felt very nice in the hand. I do believe I will be ordering something from him as soon as his shop's back up and running (hint hint, Ken ;) ).

    Second - enjoyed the classes I took - two on grinding techniques, one on folder assembly (and hey, free li'l pocket knife out of it, so bonus).  Got some good information out of them all.  Wish I'd signed up for more. Next year...

    Third - saw *lots* of gorgeous blades.  I'll get into those in a separate post (I have business cards at home, but not everyone is coming to mind).

    Fourth - picked up some sharp'n'pointies of my own.

    The big one was from Zac Brown's Southern Grind, a OD Green Jackal. Just a nice feeling knife, high carbon steel & G10 scales. Came with a nice Kydex sheath (also in OD).





    Bought this little EDC necker from Jeff Siggers, a "DBK" in 154CM Stainless. It'll be a Father's Day gift to my stepfather (don't hold the wrap against Jeff, it's all me).  Again, came with the OD Kydex.





    Also picked up this, from Texan Knives. Nice damascus camper, with bone scales and brass and mosaic pins. Came with a two-way leather sheath.



    Now, for the two I really wish I could've bought, but decided against.. from Longship Armory:

    This is essentially a short sword - about 2 ft of blade, but balanced very well.

    My wife complained that the Jackal wasn't sexy, when I showed it to her. So, I brought home pics of this and said "That sexy enough for you?" After cooing softly, she said "Yeeeeahhh..."

    Lovely, lovely knives though. I carry a Victorinox farmer everyday. I like the stainless steel handles best. I miss the cool colours they used to have (red, od green, dark blue, and plain old silver).
