Stag bullnose skinner with a 4 3/8" CPMS35VN blade, turquoise spacers and 416 stainless guard & Pommel. This is too beautiful not to share.

Oh, man... :drool. That things beautiful! Like... It must've been forged by the hands of supermodels that used Italian design concepts as their blueprint inspiration.

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.

With a story attached to it

A brass skull head knuckleduster Commando knife completed today.

This is a reproduction of a 1950's version of the WW2 skull head knuckleduster knife, usually known as the Middle East Commando Knife.

The customer is a US Marine whose ancestor once carried the very same form of knife in theatre. This one is soon destined to be carried in his memory in a current theatre of operations.

God speed to all troops who may yet face and know the grim realities of steel and war.

I am a nerdtastic "Dune" fan and have always wanted a jambiya-type knife as I've always envisioned the blades from that tale to be. I've also always thought the Yemeni/Southern Arabian Peninsula tradition of wearing the jambiya in the front sash as pretty badass. Sooooo I finally bought a jambiya from Atlanta Cutlery which is basically the storefront for Windlass Steelcrafts. I smoked over the traditional Persian/Indian version they offer but decided on the modernized version as it was full tang. The blade is 9.5" long and is 3/16" thick

It has rubber handle scales that smell like a tire shop but lock your grip in rock solid. They are removeable and that gives me the project of working some wood, bone or horn into a fancier set of handle scales. I can't wait to get started as soon as I decide on the material.

The balance and feel is fantastic and it dances in my hand despite being such a large blade. The extremely curved tip is unlike any I've ever owned but it still produces a good stab wound on some guilty boxes by the front door.

The sheath is just stiff leather and a bit thin around the mouth with no reinforcing band. It does have a good metal tip and a large stainless steel stud for tucking it inside your belt. I like that as I do a lot of my projects at night in my shop out back and in addition to a pistol I like to tuck a Bowie in my belt for the walk in the dark.

All in all I am very pleased and have always liked all of the Windlass products I've handled. For $50 it was a great buy.

Okay - That's a badass knife.  I like that.  Not as much as a Bowie - but still.  That's a beast.

Speaking of sharp and pointy, someone on here posted a pic of a tanto design that I found a thing of beauty... and I can't find the blessed post, to ask who made it.

    Anyone care to 'fess up?

I bet you are remembering one of the threads featuring Ken Brock's blades.   Do a site search using those words and it will pull them up for you.

His stuff is all business and good looking besides.   :thumbup1    I still intend to own one of his Double D models before its all said and done.

It wasn't a Brock blade though - I remember the maker's mark looking like it incorporated an M and an I, IIRC (I remember the M, speculating on the I).

OK .  Just spent far too long looking at old threads.  An effort notable chiefly for its lack of success in finding any such blade as you described it.   :banghead

The profile was similar to a Gerber Warrant, but longer, without the serrations (really wish they made that blade with a clean profile... serrations on a tanto ain't right), and with wood scales.

    Freakin' gorgeous, it was.

Not sure if it was what you are remembering but there are some very similar designs, minus the serrations, over at Entrek USA .

I think the "Survivor" has particularly clean lines for a general purpose tanto style blade .
