This one.  This one is my favorite.  The lines are elegantly brutal and the proportions are only slightly exaggerated as a proper Bowie should be.

Matt used to have a website, however it appears to have been discontinued and is now owned by a Japanese nail salon, if you want, I can give you his facebook page and you can message him, just send me a PM.

It was a good Christmas for me. I got the Cold Steel cutlass machete, and Kershaw Diskin Hunter.

The machete came with the worst edge I have ever seen. I have done better with a hand grinder blindfolded, but it is fixable.

If it were any other blade shape, I would want it.

Really? This is the knife that's "fluffed up"? I wonder what kind of miracles his "good" ones look like  :cool.

The whole tracker thing is kind of getting ridiculous to me, but those, I like them for some reason.   :cool

And to answer your question, here are some of John April's other works and I gotta tell ya, he doesn't give himself enough credit.

I'd like a version of the Tracker if it just lost that weird saw blade back edge.  That really is the most over-blown knife since Rambo's.  But Rambo was an awesome move... The Hunted was just - not.  Yet that knife gained mystic powers because of it.

Hmmm .  .  .   :hmm    Sort of an extra chunky take-off of the Graham Razel.

:shrug Eh, some prefer them to be a little more chunky.....  :neener  :facepalm.

I liked the razel. Never owned one, but it's nice to have different options and it is a unique blade.

Wow. Now that is an unique blade, simple yet elegant....looks like a Roman Pugio or Parazonium, but with a Wharncliffe blade. Lovely!

That's a Bowie I like.  Now if they would just get rid of the bolsters/handguards.  I know they have a purpose, but if I am down to fighting with knives, I have screwed up so royally that keeping fingers is way behind looks in MY priorities.

It's a seax. It was the eating/work/last ditch defense blade of the Saxons, Vikings and other Germanic/Scandinavian people. The long seax was the sword version and where the Saxons were suppposed to have derived their name ie. "people of the sword" or something such.

I took a few pictures of some sharp pointy things that have been in the family a while today so I could ask Mad Mike about them. May as well share a few here too.

I am a nerdtastic "Dune" fan and have always wanted a jambiya-type knife as I've always envisioned the blades from that tale to be. I've also always thought the Yemeni/Southern Arabian Peninsula tradition of wearing the jambiya in the front sash as pretty badass. Sooooo I finally bought a jambiya from Atlanta Cutlery which is basically the storefront for Windlass Steelcrafts. I smoked over the traditional Persian/Indian version they offer but decided on the modernized version as it was full tang. The blade is 9.5" long and is 3/16" thick

It has rubber handle scales that smell like a tire shop but lock your grip in rock solid. They are removeable and that gives me the project of working some wood, bone or horn into a fancier set of handle scales. I can't wait to get started as soon as I decide on the material.

The balance and feel is fantastic and it dances in my hand despite being such a large blade. The extremely curved tip is unlike any I've ever owned but it still produces a good stab wound on some guilty boxes by the front door.

The sheath is just stiff leather and a bit thin around the mouth with no reinforcing band. It does have a good metal tip and a large stainless steel stud for tucking it inside your belt. I like that as I do a lot of my projects at night in my shop out back and in addition to a pistol I like to tuck a Bowie in my belt for the walk in the dark.

All in all I am very pleased and have always liked all of the Windlass products I've handled. For $50 it was a great buy.
