Here's a Moorhaus Tom Brown Tracker-style blade my wife gave me a couple of weeks ago. I'd marked it on our Amazon wish list and she had it sent to my work as a surprise.

Yes, my wife is a keeper.

It's the first "custom" type knife I've ever had. It runs around $100-$120 depending on the source and materials. My handle is walnut but you can get them in all types of G-10, antler, Olive wood, Cocobolo, etc. You can also buy the bare blade and add handle scales, etc.



The sheath is heavy leather and the straps are a medium weight leather. It's designed for a horizontal only wear but I already have simple plans to easily mod it to wear vertically.

It's a hefty beast in hand with the balance point right at the first hollow rivet point in the handle. It's 10" overall with a blade 3/16" thick and 5" long.



According to the Amazon write-up, it's a Damascus blade made of German (Sandvik) 1095HC and Swedish (Sandvik) 15N20. It is tempered to 58-60 HRC on a C-Scale.

Okay... A question I've always had about that blade style... that inverted grind on the belly, near the guard... what is that for? Is it sharpened, or just one honking huge choil?

It is sharpened and not a choil. Some people keep that area a bit dull to use to scrape up fuzz sticks for tinder/fire starters. I personally sharpen it all

I was not trying to discourage Gabrielus from posting pics of cool knives, I was trying to encourage more of us to post pics of our knives.

First is a bayonet that I bought while in high school, and sharpened and used as a machete.

Second is a classic old knife that needs some love. I remember seeing these type of knives as a kid that are well used and almost sharpened away.

Third is a Thai machete sent to me by a friend.

Nah, I just started working at Wal-Mart, things are getting busy for me, so I decided to take a break for the most part, I got more blades to post and I really do try to get all of the specs when it comes to the knives, I got more knives coming up, for now I'm taking a break, until tmr when I get back on here and post more regularly.
