Wow...there must be something in the water. This week I seriously looked at a G23 for the first time. As soon as I get the Springfield finished up the Para is going on gunbroker.

Off-topic, what's a Pod Person?

Cross reference Robert A. Heinlein.  Go read everything he wrote.  Then return cleansed.

Well I've read to comments on the RTF Glocks.  One thing reported is that they seem to be "smoother" and a bit more "accurate" than previous models.  Massad Oyab thinks the texture on the grips is a bit too aggressive for concealed carry with some clothing.  As it is he thinks it's great for range, duty, or open carry.  If it grabbed a shirt or jacket of mine I'd be tempted to hit it with a little sandpaper or an emery board.

One thing that Glocks, 1911's, and Dillon Reloaders have is an enormous data base and after market stuff for them.

I really hate Obama for driving the price of nice stuff way out of reach.  At one time I was looking at using a Fusion kit to piecemeal myself a basic 1911 out of good stuff.  It still came out too high for me no matter how hard I tried to work it.  Obama may drive me to worship Satan (Gaston Glock).

George, I've known you for a long time.  I've been reading your blog for ten years.  I've been reading it since before the word "weblog" was shortened to "blog" (and we all became a little dumber as a result).

I remember the love of the CZ P01.  I remember when that five-shot .44 Special was "my gun", as you said.  Nothing as pedestrian as a Glock .40 is going to hold your interest for very long.  You're going to take that poor Glock home, tell it you love it, that it's the only one...and after some time it'll be in the back of the safe with all of the other broken-hearted handguns.  You unfaithful bastard.  Before too long you'll be running back to that 1911 of yours.

What does RTF stand for in this case?

Rough Texture Finish/Finish.

I haven't heard definitively whether it's frame or finish.

I can shoot a Glock pretty good but I don't care for them much because they feel so "square" in the grip and I don't like a striker fired gun for personal defense.  I absolutely love my P30 & HK45.  Both feel like they were made to fit my hand, are very accurate, have that "H&K" recoil dampening system (dual recoil springs of different strengths...it works very well) and have an exposed hammer which is something, for me, that I find absolutely necessary on a carry gun.  Before anyone says WTF on the hammer thing it's a personal preference.  I've carried all sorts of handguns and it's just something that I feel very comfortable with.

Well I always tell guys to carry what they are comfortable with using and shooting;) For me that's just not a Glock. I've got a few reasons but nothing that people can't make good compelling arguments that really make sense why I could be wrong. So at the end of the day I just don't like them:) They are a good gun from a reliability standpoint but the ergonomics and lack of a traditional safety are my two main complaints. Also they are too thick for my taste but I guess at the end of the day I just like my old 1911's.

It's kinda like classic cars, yeah I can go buy a new basic sedan that's as fast as a 60's muscle car but it just doesn't have the soul:)

I'm with Matt on the preference for a Hammer.  I am not a Poly-Striker guy... I'm a Metal-Hammer guy.  I always will be.  Call this a Social Experiment, call it a fad, call it momentary insanity, call it a mistake, or call it a wise move.  Whatever.  I'm going to evaluate the Glock again from Square One, filtering my bias and trying to be as objective as possible.

I'll admit, I don't hold the same disdain I used to for GLOCKs anymore.  Maybe they fit me better as I have grown up.

One intern is designated primary gunner/operator. The other intern is loader assistant.  When the Glock runs dry the primary drops the mag and the loader puts in a full mag or if their isn't enough room the primary will drop the empty mag and put his hand back for the feed me signal  and grasp a full mag from the assistant.  They will be linked by a Tennifer coated chain.  They will either be of opposite sex or different ethnicities.  The movie will have a fart scene, a mag up the ass scene, a couple of humorous sex scenes, and the use of the assistant as a shield and gun rest.  Working title is "Chained Plastic" or "Nun Gunners".  In the later the Pope enters a three gun match.

That is one seriously underrated movie.  Willem Dafoe is great in it.

This is like watching a guy date/marry a girl renowned for her "prolific distribution".  They are fun to date for awhile, but eventually, despite their ability to go forever, you realize they are soulless and evil (albeit still pretty fun)....

Well the Reformation was enabled and it could be argued that it was successful because it happened in the age of the printing press and the early publishing industry.
The Internet could well be the technical device that leads to the wide spread  influence of the worship of Glock as opposed the long established Church of St. Moses Browning.  I hope we can avoid the Thirty Years War of Tupperware vs. Steel.

I do like the Heinie Straight Eights... those are quite good.  I'm just getting standard Trijicons.
Most Likely, I'll get a 22Gen4 this summer... however friends of mine that already have the 22Gen4 say it's very good, and an improvement over the standard 22.  If you are wanting a 22Gen4, I don't see any reason to wait.  It's not like a new Taurus or something that needs a little time to get the bugs worked out... a Glock is a Glock is a Glock... they made no changes to internals, function, mechanics... just exterior trim.

What happened?  I pulled it out, threw it into the back of my truck, drove to the range, and fired and reloaded and fired about 25 shells... ZERO FAILURES.
I'll probably not bury it in the snow.  Slipstream proved it doesn't mind the cold.  Glocks have also proven that as well.

Someday, I'd like to see a Sig torture test, similar to the glock ones we always see. Of course, I only have one Sig, and I want it to last a good long time.

That's why they say the SIG P220 is "The Thinking Man's .45".
