This morning I ordered a Glock 23 RTF2 with Night Sights.
If I end up liking this one enough... if I end up an actual Glock Convert... A 22Gen4 could be a possibility, but let's not get carried away.  I could end up putting this Glock on KSL and ordering that P30 in .40 anyways.  The only way to tell is to spend some time with the pistol and really getting to know it inside and out.

You know, I was all set to believe that the real George was safe and sound . . . but now I'm not sure.

Seriously, though, George/Pod person, let us know how it goes. Are you planning to write a review on it?

I would recommend skipping the night sights or selling them and getting the Warren two dots but that's off of personal preference.

  When does it arrive?

I'm looking forward to your report on it!  I have a 23Gen3.  It's a great gun (although the trigger does hurt my finger after a bit and I'm going to have to sand off those damn finger grooves).  It sleeps in my nightstand.  Wink

Do you have a smooth faced trigger?  Cheap and easy to install.  One of the first things I do to a Glock.

I don't.  Didn't know that was an option.  Thanks.

Now to sand off the grooves and I'm good to go.

He's just trying to give Glock a fair shake.  Try it out again and that way he has more information to love or hate it.  It's the real Ogre, I assure you all, he's just going through a bit of a paradigm shift about guns lately.  (trying old things out again, etc.)

But, a Glock?

You know, a Ruger P89 for 289 bucks is not a bad deal...
LOL... no... I can't even joke about that.

Check this out guys, and follow the train of thought here.
I was wrong about the .17 HMR.  I thought it the most useless cartridge on the planet.  Now it's one of my favorites.
I was wrong about the Savage Rifles.  I thought they were cheap and ugly... turns out they are very well made and accurate has all get out.
I was wrong about Kimber.  I thought they were guns for Prettyboy Metrosexuals... turns out they are pretty dang tough and one of the best out of the box productions rifles.
Okay, now a lot of people I respect have great things to say about the Glocks.  Consistent triggers.  Best Trigger Reset on the market for serious guns.  Low bore axis makes dealing with recoil easier.  Accurate.  Reliable. And simple.  Looking at the latest use of force issues, its been coming down to splitting hair seconds and even flicking off the safety is questionable.
Look at the negatives on the Glocks... they are Ugly soul-less bricks.   Okay... anything tangible?  Grip angle?  That's a matter of acclimation.
So seeing how I've been wrong on some other guns and all the positives about the Glocks... I'm going to give it an honest fair shake.

I am a FIRM believer in night sights.  I'm addicted to tritium.  And while I've looked at the Warren sights, and I like them... I just don't like them enough to sacrifice tritium - and I've not seen them with it so I don't even know what they are.  So I'll just get some Trijicons on that mug and call it good.

And yes, this will end up as a Report.  What happens after that... is yet to be seen.
I'm still the Ogre, just more willing to look at my mistakes and second guess my opinions if they were wrong.

What's wrong with a P89?  I have a P85 I've had for 20 years and I don't understand why all of my shooting friends bust on it and me when I occasionally bring it to IDPA.  So it's not pretty, how is it that different from any Glock?   Grin

I'm not going to say the Glock isn't a perfectly servicable and reliable firearm.  Because it is.

It's just so...so...square.

Actually, nothing is wrong with em, they are like AK's in 9mm.  But after having a bad experiance with Rugers customer support I am not supporting them as a company.

But Ogre's long standing hatred of the company that casts is legendary.

You know, this could be one of the most important traits for a politician responsible public servant to have, yet one of the most lacked.

While I question the Glock Hiding under a chair, i approve of this.

Please in the name of all that is holy, if that Borg-like piece of Austrian hardware actually grows on you, sell the optimum carry Sig C3 to a needy (Texan, USN vet.... Wink) but worthy home for an exceptional price.

I have Warren night sights on my G19.  White outline green front, no-outline yellow rear in a figure 8 configuration.  Nice and wide rear notch.  Fast.  Corrosion resistant.
