We are really excited to announce that we found a company to replace who we were getting lower receivers from. The old company (who will remain nameless) was a nightmare to get anything from. This company is able to have our receivers ready to ship to us in approximately a week (as apposed to still trying to get everything owed to us since December).

Everything aside, these are great lowers. The magazine wells are wire EDM machined so the dimentions are more precise and very smooth. They even have a set screw under the grip that takes all the slack out of the triggers. That makes a huge difference in the quality of the trigger pull.

So Crusader will now be able to give you a great turnaround time. We're very proud of being able to provide you with better service and look forward to doing more business with you.

Will they be providing the lowers for both the AR-15 line and the .308 rifles?  If so are the .308 rifles still G3 mags or is it something else?

They will be doing .308 soon. They haven't said what magazine they will be using. I'll be letting everyone know as soon as I know. But by then we might have some new announcement s on that front anyway.

Nope.  Even if the Broadsword ends up not using G3 mags (I pray that it does)  Just until G3 mags become scarce and you got a lot of profit there. Shrug

Our manufacture, Fidelis really kicked us in the nuts on this.  No one is more angered about this than we are.  No one.   We made arrangements that they continually broke.  Turns out, those CNC machines they show on their web site - they don't have them.  They are not a manufacturer... they contract out like we did.  They lied to us.  Which in turn made us look like shmucks.  So here is what we are working on - getting our own CNC Mill and lathe.  We get that - we can then in turn build what we want - exactly how we want.  In House.
But people don't just go around dropping cash like that on machines like this.  Financing is an issue we are working on solving, where to put those machines with their HUGE power requirements.   We are working on that.

I wish "screwed over" actually covered it. Let's just say if their shop was on fire I'd get a bowl of popcorn and a lawn chair. Screw 911. I appreciate your sentiment though.

Nope.  Hang on to them...

The G3 lower is coming. I actually have one we got from Fidelis because they owed us money for an extended time. We'll be able to get what we need from that to make them ourselves. It has and will take longer than we thought. Once we have CNC capabilities we'll be set and ready to roll.

I got a bunch of G3 mags and later ran out of money.  Then I scored a super deal on another rifle a few weeks ago.  None of that means I can't use the G3 mags, or save up again to buy Crusader's rifle later when they're ready to ship.

Save the G3 mags.  They're so cheap you can't afford NOT to have them.

Sorry to hear that. I was starting to think you guys were smucks, promising stuff and not delivering like a lot of fly by night companies. Sad to see this stuff happen in the gun community. It's more common than it should be.

FWIW Mega Machines here in Olympia is a pretty stand up company, they normally make airplane parts (for Boeing I have heard) but make lowers on days when they dont have airplane work.  Supposedly thier machinery is top notch, might give them a  thought or two.

Looks like updates from my phone doesn't work so well. My last post never hit.

RSViper, Yeah I could tell what your opinion was of us and I don't blame you. We've been fighting with those guys for a long while now but in the end I have to take responsibility for the delays. We're working on getting everything squared away and will do somewhat of a re-launch of the rifles at that time. We're still doing rifle work but as far as production...I realize at this point we either get this right or we die as a rifle maker. We are all completely aware of that. Our reputations are on the line here but succeed of fail this is all on my shoulders.

One thing that isn't getting talked about here is the other thing Crusader is doing - and doing really damn well - is taking your old guns and making them like better than new.
Joe can take your old war horse - strip it down, replace worn parts and springs, Slipstream Treat those parts, Duracoat the gun, tweak it out, and when you get that gun back - It will run and look better than ever before.

Unfortunately, I often see a lot of promises that don't end up being kept in this industry as a whole and it's made me somewhat cynical. It just frustrates me at times (and this isn't directed at you guys), that in and industry and culture that touts standing by its word and honesty, that we often don't see that in business practices. Unfortunate that you were on the receiving end, which also makes you guys look bad. It only takes one or two bad apples to spoil the batch.

I watch the Robinson XCR forums and I'd never buy an XCR based on the BS customer service and just general lack of info or updates the company gives on their products. They've been talking about a .308 xcr for 3 years now. No updates. Even a "We are testing this, or waiting on this" would be better than absoluetly no info.  They need to not make promises that can't be kept, and if they've anounced something, keep people informed or keep your trap shut in the first place..

Of course this happens on a larger scale too, the whole ACR debacle with the promised price point and then all the changes that happened to the design irritated a lot of people. It just irks me as a gun buyer. I find it hard to take any company at it's word online or otherwise these days. Thanks for the update as to the true nature of your issues. I'll be waiting and watching for the Broadsword. A .308 AR of some kind is going to be my next rifle purchase and I'd love to support you guys.

I don't see how it is possible for a new company, in any industry, to not break a few promises marketing wise. Especially in an industry so intertwined as the firearms industry, where very few, if any companies take a full gun from clean sheet design to market without contracting something out. If someone else doesn't live up to their contract, then you can't meet your commitments to your clients through no fault of your own.

I don't hold this against Crusader. There are very few companies out there that can go from idea to production in a year.

Well we try to never break our word. We don't appreciate being forced to by Fidelis but we can't place all the blame on them either.
