Hey, I am Andrew (Andy for short Grin ), I am from South Central KY.   Learned about this forum from my friend, AR lover on here, so I may head on over here from THR.   I guess you can just say I love shooting.  Afro

Welcome SigNY....I'm about 35 miles west of  Albany, in Amsterdam.

IIRC, Peta also wanted the Catskills renamed because the name invokes an image of cats being  killed.   Scrutiny   I'm not sure, but I think kill is Dutch for 'creek'.

I also think an East-Coast WTA meet-up would be a cool idea.

Hey mjolnir1964.  My hunting club and myself own a cabin in the ADK about 45 mins from Amsterdam.  I frequent Franks Gun Shop in Broadalbin whenever I head up to the Cabin.

Hello there Sig NY, im in VT. Maybe we should look at organizing a WTA East Coast meet up. There are at least 4 of us on this coast. Maybe we can set it up for somewhere here in VT. That way everyone can bring whatever they want. Welcome to the board.

I think it's a great idea!  VT would be the best option for the NE.

That would be cool, I could probably make it there as well, depending on meaning of "East Coast".

Hi guys great site so far, I got linked here from Mad Orge's website and took a look around seems like a great place with good info.

My name is Luke, I've been carrying concealed for the last 7 years or so, and I've recently started making holsters for concealed carry. I'm located in Texas at the moment but my wife and I travel around the country and live mostly in our motorhome, we tend to head south in the winter months. Our house is in Michigan but to be honest we really haven't stayed a night in our house since November of 2008 which is pretty sad;) My wife is a travel nurse working in the ER or cardiac, and hopefully I look forward to sharing some info and experiences with you guys.

Thanks for the resource.

Also if posting this info or anything is against the rules please shoot me a message I'd be more than willing to move off to private messages or the sort. I haven't found the formal rules for the forum so I don't want to overstep on my first day here;)

(can you tell I moderate another forum myself? That I don't want to make more work for someone else:)

And there is a handful of us in the Left Coast.

I'm actually surprised by the amount of private ARs owned here to be perfectly honest.

Hello from Virginia. My name is John and I am new to this forum. I found a link from the United States Concealed Carry Association and it looks like it's right up my alley. I am a disabled veteran who served with the First Cavalry Division at FT Hood, Texas as an Apache Longbow helicopter crew chief. I am an NRA member, USCCA member and I belong to several second amendment based forums. I am a firm believer in the right and the duty to own and carry a firearm to protect myself, my family and if need be my community. I hope to learn a lot from the other members here.

Welcome to We The Armed FirstCavApache99!

Given your background, I'm sure you'll enjoy Bud's stories (but so does everyone).

hello from virginia. got here by reading a book actually. MHI is my favorite book next to a couple of other unrelated ones, but that lead me to larry's blog, then i found the link there to madogre.com, and that lead me here. i've actualyl been lurking for a while, which is why i didnt think to drop an introduction. a little aobut me though, i've been shooting since i was 3 and I am currently 18. i dont really pick up on the fanatics about guns, i couldn't name a gun except perhaps if it has one particular defining phrase about it, like the SCAR, the TAR-21, ect, but i do have a very inventive mind, and like to think up guns of my own.

Welcome Slayer,

I think the more you hang around guns, the more you'll learn.  That's kinda like myself, except I started with guns when I was about 20.  I spend many hours at the gunshop just standing there listening to the sales person talk to a buyer.  Picked up lots of lingo and got to learn about how guns worked.  Then I met GeorgeHill, who furthered my education.

The right to defend our lives and the lives of our loved ones is one of the "inalienable" rights our Founding Fathers deemed most precious. Some states have protected that right while others have neglected it. Knowing where states draw the line between your rights and the rights of those who seek to harm you, our family, or your property could be the most important knowledge of your lifetime. Stepping over the line could mean personal and financial disaster.
