BOOM.... legshot.

« on: October 23, 2008, 10:18:23 AM »

Bought this XD40 a few months back.  Haven't really shot it much but enough to know that it is 100% reliable.  Cannot force it to jam.  I carry it with 165gr Federal HST Tactical.

I am a huge 1911 fan so for me this is going to be a big step in the road towards recovery.  I have been carrying the XD40 daily instead of my Kimber Custom II  Embarrassed

I find that even though it is a bit thicker, it is more comfortable to carry due to the fact that it has no sharp edges on the rear of the slide.  I am currently carrying it in a Galco Summer Comfort but I am going to be ordering a new holster for it now that I am carrying it more often.  Was thinking possibly the Comp-Tac CTAC or MTAC (Can't decide...)

I am fairly accurate with this pistol... Think I will reserve the 1911's for competitions and range use.

So yeah, post up pics of your carry gun!

Hello.

My normal carry around the house and in the neighborhood is a well-worn S&W Model 642 loaded with Remington 158-gr. LHP +P.

This revolver is wearing the inexpensive "Hideout" grips (hard nylon) bought from Brownells for less than $20.00 a pair. I did have to dress down the upper left grip to allow use with a speedloader.

I carry the little snub in a pocket holster.  I've used Galco's for years but am currently trying out this one from High Noon.

When I carry a full-size pistol, it is usually either a 1911-pattern in .45 ACP or a 9mm Hi Power.

Best.

CZ PO1 in my to/from work holster, HBE Belt Holster.

This is my off duty rig, HBE COMIII, same double mag pouch used with both.

And once in a great while, this one, my inheritance, Smith 10-8.

Depending on what I'm doing or where I'm going, it's one of these...

The one on the left I carry in a Fatboy Versipack when I go to work (I ride the bus usually and can't carry in the office).  The one on the right I carry in my off time in a Bianchi Model 100 IWB holster.

I would post pics, but seriously - who hasn't seen a Glock before?

I carry a Glock 26 with Winchester Ranger 115grain +P+ in a Comp-Tac Minotaur holster.

Only thing I would change is carrying a Glock 27 in .40, the holster I swear by.

I usually carry one of these P7's. I carry the P7M13 when concealability's not that big of a deal, and the slimmer PSP (note the GSG-9 marking  8)) when I need a bit more discretion.

And if it looks like rain, the Uzi on a one-point sling rides real nice under a long coat.  8)

Here's my usual load out...  Ruger P90 .45 acp, one 8 rnd mag locked and loaded with 185 gr. Winchester Silvertips, and four 7 rounders on the belt.  Two with the Silvertips for the Vampires and Werewolves, and two with Federal 230 gr. JHPs in case I need something a little heavier for peculiarly pesky Zombies...

Forger -

You must be a fairly stout person.  Those P90s are pretty large to try and conceal.

(PS:  Silvertips don't work on Werewolves.  Haven't you read the first chapter of MHI?)

6' 3", 285#...  With an IWB in the 4 o'clock position, the Ruger pretty much disappears on me.  And being a big, bald headed, bearded scary biker lookin' bastage pretty much guarantees Joe Sheeple doesn't give me much more than a cursory glance before looking the other way...

For those with the nerve to be a bit more curious, my right thumb hooked in my back pocket puts my forearm in the right position to cover up any trace that I be packin'.

I had to use Google-Fu to find out about MHI (Monster Hunters International, right??), and read the first chapter there.  Sounds like a book I'm gonna have to get.

I carry a Sig P6, but Thernlund already posted pics. Mine has less holster wear than his two though. Tongue

I carry a S&W 3913 LS (as in "Lady Smith") . . . I bought it for my wife, but I've loved it so much, I use it as my daily carry.

Ruger P90 IWB 7+1 230gr. JHP.  I don’t carry extra mags.  It’s too difficult to change mags while running!

I am not old enough to carry and live in Kalifornia.  But that Series 80 is what I would pack.  As long as I would be careful, I don't think it would matter if a carried it in Condition One.

The 1911 in this picture is even nice enough to include ambi thumb safeties!

And if not that, I would pack a Glock 19.  It is a very universal/utalitarian gun.

Here is my EDC my XD40 and my new acquisition a DW .357 currently with the 4 inch barrel, it's a Monson, Mass. model so it's at least a 1983 if not older. Just finished cleaning both of them (I love cleaning them it's very cathartic for me)  unfortunately there is a glare from the light.
