Heading out on a voluntary search party tomorrow to find Bambi's relatives.
Hope they're tasty.

Seen several, shot none. Can't shoot antlerless on State property. But one was anice sized button buck.
Was cold as hell again this morning.
Slept like hell.
Stayed at camp.
Will go out this evening.
Hoping for a gokd sized doe off of my Dad's. property.

This is why you should go hunting for wild bacon, not deer.  No antler worries there!
After a shooting spree, they want to take the guns away from everyone who didn't do it.

Deer Diary,
Sat in woods. No deer. Lots of squirrel. Lots of rabbit. Even a few dove. Maybe I should have been squirrel hunting and I would have seen deer.

Last year after a couple days like that I brought out a .22 rifle and kept my Blackhawk in case I saw deer. At least I brought home a couple squirrels.  :-\

Just pretend you are squirrel hunting. That's what I do.

In Indiana that would be frowned upon. You can carry a pistol for personal protection while hunting, but you can only be hunting with one gun.

Kinda like hunting with a shotgun and having both slugs and shot shells on ya at the same time.

Big fine.

Well in Alabama we can shoot hogs during the small game season on State Wildlife Management Areas with BB Guns but have to use firearms to do the same thing on private land... :banghead   :o    :(   :'(    >:D   :facepalm   :shrug   ...that's all folks!

I can use my Mosin Nagant to shoot squirrel, feral hogs, varmints  all day. But not a deer. Cause that bullet might travel.
Like a 7.62x54r, .30-06, .22lr, 12ga. slug, .50 cal sniper rifle won't.
It says, "...any weapon..."

So...when are you going out again?  I'm hoping to get out some time next week myself.  I still have 4 tags to fill.

Son got a shot at a nice buck last night. His shots with Maggie were too low. We guessedimayed about 300 yards. He was hitting at the feet on the last shot.
We have to gather up dirty clothes and go back home this afternoon. A shower, shave, wash clothes, repack, do Voice Over tonight, then maybe back tomorrow. Friday for sure. Hunt this weekend then its up to Momma if she gets her next contract job down in TX.
We'll see.
