Going duck hunting in the morning
« on: December 14, 2012, 09:18:20 PM »
Well, I'm off on another disabled veteran's hunt and this time it's ducks with an afternoon deer hunt.  I've not duck hunted since I was 16 so I'm looking forward to this experience.  Steel shot has come a long way since I used it last and the Winchester Blind Side that I picked up is like nothing I have seen before.  I was actually going to get some Federal Black Cloud because I know how well the Prarie Storm works on pheasants but I wanted to experience something new.  The hex shaped shot stacks perfectly in the wad and the wad actually controls the shot better and more effectively than the choke in the barrel.  Hopefully I'll get some shots off and drop a duck or 2 and I'll be sure to report on how the Blind Side stuff works out.
