You can't buy this Beretta
« on: December 03, 2012, 05:25:18 pm »
http://www.berettaaustralia.com.au/beretta/pistols-1/92-steel.html

I find this gun very interesting.  For starters this is the Beretta 92FS-C, for compact, which has a .5 shorter barrel and the grip is shorter too, 13 rounds instead of 15.  Beretta hasn't sold 92-C's in the USA for I think at least 10 years.  Note that this is NOT the same as the Beretta Centurion, which hand the same length barrel as the compact but a full length grip (15 round).  Second note, there was also a version of the C-M which was a single-stack.

So in addition to it being a compact, it appears that this one is the Beretta equivalent of the 'Performance Center' pistol.  I wonder if 'specially assembled' models will be coming to the USA, or as this is the only Compact one on the Australian page if the company was getting rid of some old parts inventory and had some guys hand assemble simply because the production line for Compacts has been switched over to full size for years, and so they decided to sell it as something special.

Yes, it is spendy.  However the Aussie Inox MSPR = $1150 while the USA Inox MSRP = $800

I'd guestimate a $2500 price tag for the special beretta in the USA...still pretty darn spendy

Actually you can get the 92 Compact on the US, still.  Beretta USA still brings them in, but only a few.... Demand for them is quite low.  But your dealer can indeed order you one, if the order Beretta direct.

interesting.  I have an old catalog and they aren't listed, and aren't displayed on the website.

I wonder what else you can order.  M (single stack) version?
