Any of yall got one and what do yall think of it?

I just bought one with a 3.75 inch barrel and I used to have one with the 4 5/8 barrel. Between the two I would obviously go with the shorter one. If possible, I highly recommend the bisley style grip. It does a much better job of handling recoil. I also have a Blackhawk .45 with a 5.5 barrel. That seems to be the best compromise of accuracy, recoil management, and packability.

What do you want to use it for just to have, target shoot, hunt, or other?

I had one. As I get older, it's harder to control that style grip with a big heavy handgun -- I do better now with the Redhawk.

To answer your question, I loved it. Passed it on to my son, who does well with it at 75-100 yards. IIRC, it was intended for silhouette shooting, but no reason it couldn't work for hunting -- just harder to carry easily. I love Ruger revolvers, and the single action is a favorite. Very strong, and will handle just about any load if you do your part.

Sorry, though I'd claim it if I could -- and may yet, the way things are shaking out. Enough years in AZ got me the nickname, now back in VA (the Hillbilly Heaven part, where the name still fits.)

I've got a Super Blackhawk 7.5" barrel. To me that's as long as needed, helps shootability alot, 10.5" is getting danged long for most stuff except the shooting part.

I will admit that in wheelguns I prefer either a snubby, 2.5-2.75" barrel or a 6.5" + barrel. The in betweens are a compromise, I just don't care for

Not BAD...just...don't seem 'ta handle as good as either of the others.

Ah yes, but carry gets kinda awkward

I mean the 7.5" ruger is a little bit more awkward than my other stuff. I can't imagine an extra 3" of barrel to get tangled in barbed wire, you couldn't (hardly) carry it while riding in a pickup seat,etc.eetc.

It is awkward, but a chest rig helps.

Ok been shootn my super today.awsome at 30 yrds,but went out to 60 and Im eveywhere so the ? is what kind of scope do I need?My super is the new model 0807

OK - first, describe your shooting session. Target, range, ammo, rested or freestanding, sight picture, - that sort of thing. Might help us get you sorted out before deciding on a scope.

Target is a paper plate,range is backyard,240 gr solids,freehand at 30 yrds and rested at 60 yrds.The sight picture is dead on at 30 yrds.And the drop on the target at 60 is 4to6 inches.
Tried to compensate for the drop but I,m everywhere.

Are those reloads? Or .44 Specials? Nothing loaded to anywhere near .44 mag velocity should drop that much at 60 yards. Is there any aiming spot on your paper plate target or just the plate itself? By sight picture I mean are you holding on the center of the plate at 30 yards? How about at 60 - upper edge of the plate? Also, how is the gun rested? Is the barrel supported or just the grip?

It sounds to me like the difference in muzzle rise between shooting rested vs freehand.

That's probably at least part of it but a lot of people unconsciously shift their aiming point when firing at a target at longer distances. If he's just using a paper plate with no specific aiming point within a roughly 10" white circle I'd bet that's part of the problem.

All the things everyone else has said are worth consideration. Also, it's a silhouette gun. If it was actually sighted for 30 yards, you may be way over at longer distances. It's meant for 100-yd, with rest. Might want to get a good solid rest and play with the sights before you do anything drastic to it.
